When it dawns on you what Bush allowed to take place on his watch, with a Republican majority House and Senate, you’re going to see this in a whole new light.

I had no idea that Fannie May and Freddy Mac were issuing loans to people who couldn’t pay them back. I had no idea that Janet Reno had taken a lending institution to court, to force them to make bad loans.

Bush wanted the Presidency real bad. He had a war chest in 1999 of $70 million dollars. He beat everyone out, and eeeked his way into office. Where was he when all this was going on?

Look, I think the Democrats are despicable, but we let this happen on our watch. WE WILL BE FOREVER LABELED FOR HAVING PUT THIS NATION ON THIS COURSE. True or not, our guy and his crew watched this train wreck take place with plenty of warning. And they did absolutely nothing.

Bush disgraced himself and us right along with him.

The waters have been so muddied, that it’s going to take a miracle for people to want to open up to even thinking that conservatism is worth listening to. Bush will be known for compassionate CONSERVATISM.

He should spend the next ten years washing his mouth out with soap for ever using the word.

President Ronald Reagan went on national TV over 20 times to speak directly to the American people about important issues, and was able to get major legislation over the opposition of the Democrat-controlled Congress. How many times did President Bush ever go on national TV and explain in a few sentences how the economic policies (e.g. Fannie Mae, Freddie Mac, CRA) were set by the Democrats and he needed our help to get them to fix those economic distortions?
