MSNBC's Chris Matthews Putting Together Staff for 2010 Senate Run
The Big Feed ^ | November 28, 2008 | Captain Thurston

Oh hell, why not? Psychosis is in vogue right now.

Chris Matthews, it appears, is in.

FiveThirtyEight has been hearing for some time that Matthews is serious about running for the United States Senate, but it took a trip to Georgia among the Georgia-runoff-congregated and well-connected Obama organizer throng to confirm.

According to multiple sources, who confirmed the Tip O'Neill staffer-cum-MSNBC host has negotiated with veteran Obama staffers to enlist in his campaign, Chris Matthews is likely to run for United States Senate in Pennsylvania in 2010. Matthews, 62, would run as a Democrat. Arlen Specter, the aging Republican incumbent, will be 80 if he chooses to run for re-election.

Maybe if he's elected, he can finally get some alone time with Obama.

....so let me see here, the Fairness Doctrine was originally established because it was feared that one person would buy up all the media outlets in a town and then beam out nothing but “vote for me” messages.

So with this in mind, I can’t help but wonder - will the new Fairness Doctrine effect TV/Cable that use the same kinds of airwaves as radio? Will MSNBC fire Olberman to deflect charges of bias?

I didn’t think so. :(

Might as well. If a worm-eaten moral degenerate like Al Franken can run a dead heat, then why not. After Mathews gets in we can run Caligula's horse.

Chrissy better hope that the Obama administration doesn't tank before then, or it will be 1994 all over again.

Pennsylvania, huh? Well, at least he was born there.

Still, I'd think it a bit arrogant that he would think he can just swoop back in and take the seat after all these years, when many other people who have worked there way up the state political ladder would also be eying the seat.

Matthews is a self-deluded idiot.

I hope Specter lives to be 90 and wins his next election.

My beautiful state. You disappointed me this year, but please do not make it worse by electing this fool as our senator. Even Ed Rendell is not as bad as Chris Matthews. We need a Toomey to run and hope he can pull it off. I don’t want Pennsylvania (which is very close) to not bother putting up good conservative candidates like everywhere else in the North East just because it is going blue.

I had a tingle down my leg during the '08 election cycle, too. They were able to operate and fix it, though. Thank goodness it wasn't anything inoperable, like Obamamania!

I think it’s a sure bet Chrissy could beat any Republican running in Pennsylvania. These are the people who re-elected Murtha who called them racists and rednecks and who called our Marines rapists. Pennsylvanians elected Obama who is a communist and who promised to bankrupt their PA coal industry. These people are beyond help.

So, yes, Matthews could win easily in PA. :(

LOL

Look at Al Franken the Hollywood jerk who just walzed in and ran. Look at Hillary who moved to New York and won their Senate seat. :( There is precedent for it. :(
