An Open Letter to the Washington Post

In her op-ed, "Remedying the Bias Perception" (November 16, 2008), Washington Post ombudsman Deborah Howell admitted the Washington Post's reporters (not to mention most other mainstream journalists) tilted their coverage of the presidential election in favor of Barack Obama. I am shocked, shocked (!) that the news media effectively disenfranchised American voters. Do they not call themselves "watchdogs of government"?

The National Review reported not long ago that journalists investigated Joe the Plumber for having the temerity to ask Obama a difficult question about his tax policies. American voters learned about Joe the Plumber's divorce and a tax lien, but almost nothing about Obama's more radical positions that are at odds with public opinion, i.e., his positions on the Freedom of Choice Act and the Defense of Marriage Act.

Ombudsman Howell assured her readers that the news media can be expected to challenge Obama, now that the election is over, simply because ...

Not to worry - as the economy tanks and there are fewer dollars for advertising a lot of print media will fail(NYT is the next big one to go) and some high priced talking heads will disappear from TV in favor of European style news readers ....

I wish the media had a conscience to be pricked.

But way back in the early 90s during the Rodney King riots, when people were dying while the media fanned the racial flames, I realized that they do not.

Alternative sources of news that can reach the population at large is the only answer.

No, they are the "running dogs" of Socialism.

Their reply now is, "Yeah, we're biased, whatcha gonna do about it, neocon?"

What a complete waste of your time. Do you think they really care what you think?

Do you not understand that the media know what they are doing? Do you think they are stupid?

Well guess what. They know what and why they do what they do.

See you at Concord.

The only way that the media will challenge Obama is if, and almost assuradly he will, reinstate the draft after he’s back-stabbed by one of his tea-totaler têtê-à-têtê muzlim buddies. His leftist toadies wll explode.

They will get a bailout, now that is fashionable, or become public employees like NPR. :-)

First, you have to become “Too Big to Fail” and don’t think you want that, do you?
