In his defense, McCain was very complimentary in his concession speech:

"I am also, of course, very thankful to Governor Sarah Palin, one of the best campaigners I've ever seen ... one of the best campaigners I have ever seen, and an impressive new voice in our party for reform and the principles that have always been our greatest strength ... her husband Todd and their five beautiful children ... for their tireless dedication to our cause, and the courage and grace they showed in the rough and tumble of a presidential campaign. We can all look forward with great interest to her future service to Alaska, the Republican Party and our country."

Can we just trade him straight up for, I don’t know, maybe Ben Nelson? Or maybe for three Yellow Dog Congressmen?

Actually, McCain has not only failed to come out and defend Sarah, he has failed to come out of his cave at all. I wonder if he’s having some kind of emotional collapse. It must be horrible to see the dream for which you have worked for many years destroyed forever. (I know the feeling, believe me.)

It is way too late for him to come out and defend her at this stage of the game.

I was half-heartedly going to vote for him, but did so with enthusiasm once Sarah arrived.

I believe it's set by the majority rule. We went through the same during the Heller Decision. Since this is occurring due to court violations, it should be fun. The Justices really get perturbed by arrogance before Judges. obama may indeed have a valid certificate. He seems to have this tendency to refuse what is directed by his higher ups. obama also seems to not understand the words "comtempt of court".

He is a Senate sellout.

And he’s still selling out conservatives, as he’s done for the last decade.

The only reason I voted for McCain was because of Sarah....and this has proven that I was right about him all along!!!

My thoughts exactly. I remember during the primaries when McCain came to Atlanta. I stood outside in protest holding up a sign that read, "McCAIN HAS SOLD US OUT". I see now that it still rings true.

Yes, indeed.
A maverick in his own mind.

Now we know why Senators do not make good presidential candidates. They are afraid to jump into the campaign 100%. They are always keeping that lifeline to the Senate open by not trashing their current peers because they know they will have to work with them again. Governors on the otherhand do not owe Congress anything. Governors represent the people. Senators represent “themselves”. G.Gordon Liddy refers to them as “barons” that rule independent fiefdoms.

Thank you for setting the record straight.

McCain said those very complimentary words and then he went away for a well deserved secluded vacation.

It's at that point that Carl Gossip Girl Cameron gave us the anonymous quotes.

And it's at that point that the lemmings around here took the bait.

That’s the very least he should have said about her. He was getting 100 people at his rallies and she brought in thousands. I was going to vote for him anyway, but my husband was going to stay home until he picked her. He can go on Leno Tuesday night but he can’t come out on her behalf. Even though during the campaign I didn’t want to admit it, he is all about John McCain. Honestly, I just want what’s best for her and her family.

Romney stabbed the GOP during the campaign.

I doubt McCain throw any of the sabotage knives of Romney.

I thought Obama’s attorneys just had to provide some type of legal mumbo-jumbo response. I’m not caught up on the court date. Is it definitive that the birth certificate has to be shown?

McCain wants to “reach across partisan” lines and get his amnesty bill passed sometime soon. He has his legacy to worry about now (/s) and defending his partner and running mate who dragged his sorry butt over the finish line is most likely not at the top of the docket. If he doesn’t publicly speak out on this we’ll know what his true colors are...blue.

Be strong Sarah. Don’t let the “good ole’ boys” get you down.

I too can not believe that McCain has not publically addressed this. It's disgusting behavior on McCain's part. Any attempt by McCain to discuss it at this late date would be too late.

John McCain has always praised Sarah Palin and he praised her in his concession speech before it he took off on a secluded vacation.

You should try to get the facts before you leap to a conclusion.
