According to lawyers on an earlier thread there would be no damage, therefore no standing, before the election...interesting - it seems there were questions about McCain's citizenship and qualification to serve as Prez because he was born in Panama - having nothing to hide because he was born on a military base and thus qualified, McCain apparently produced the required documentation and the questions resolved - if this was a legitimate issue for McCain, it certainly would seem to be one that Obama should be required to answer, and the fact that he's stonewalling certainly should raise a red flag for any fair-minded citizen.......

That is right. I am not a lawyer (at least not yet) but I think the principle argument is that one cannot have general standing. However, the court has made an exception to this for taxpayer standing for violation of the establishment clause and I cannot see why something this serious cannot also serve as such an exception of generalized standing.
