What the teacher did was inexcusable. Doing it in front of a camera redefines stupid. The teacher should be fired, the person who hired her should be fired, and the college that provided the teacher with teaching credentials should be put on notice that no graduate from that school will ever be hired into the school district again.

Hopefully, that message will not be too subtle.

I’ll bet it’s the same people who videotaped Jeremiah Wright and sold the CD’s as a fund-raiser on the church’s web-site. Or, distant cousins, at least.

Why wasn’t the video screened by the school board? Why let a foreign film crew into an American school? I’m just as PO’d at that as I am this woman.

Actually, this is a good argument to tape all classrooms, just to provide evidence of what goes on. Who knows what else is happening and being said, with no proof?

They should also go to her house, burn it down, and sow salt or better yet strontium-90 so nothing ever grows there again.

No sarcasm tags. Indoctrinating children at an age where they can neither think for themselves nor stand-up emotionally to adult bullies is one the gravest of sins. This teacher -- and any teacher -- who tries to indoctrinate in a public school -- for either side -- is evil.

My kids have a standing order from me. If a teacher starts spouting political crap, get up, tell them you're going to the principal's office, and tell them why, and call my cell phone. There are already too many subtle twists in the curriculum I can't do anything about but point out the errors as we go; but no parent should stand for this kind of treatment.
