Countering Obama's public service draft -- require community service for welfare recipients
November 7, 2008 | me

The Republicans should ask why community service is not mandated for government benefits such as food stamps, section 8 vouchers, etc. Please help me compile a list of welfare programs for which "community service" requirements could be added. Instead of Obama enslaving our children, why not ask the welfare recipients, who are part of the Democratic base, to do something in return for their benefits?

I'm sure the Dems would not go for this. The purpose of making this proposal is to highlight their hypocrisy.

How about cross-referencing cable television subscription records with welfare records and reducing the welfare payments of cable subscribers by the corresponding amount?

We shouldn’t have to pay for the entertainment of the lazy and indolent.

It appears our children will be working FOR the welfare recipients. This must be the CHANGE we've been hearing about.

How about tax payer funded abortions? Before they start their community service, they need to watch a video of an actual abortion.

How about mandatory birth control (i.e. an implant) while on welfare or in Section 8 housing. . .

Welfare to Work training programs were tried in NYC, it failed horribly. It failed in ways that made the program a disgrace to the very core values this nation holds dear. Rampant abuse of desperate people, actual slavery, sexual assaults, every type of deviant behavior imaginable including murder was committed inside the programs.

The United States dismantled it’s industrial base, and through market efficiencies made redundant vast numbers of menial work positions. This country can no longer sustain the economic levels of activity necessary to employ the most vulnerable 5%+ of employable unemployed and not searching adults.

Forcing the unemployed to take honest jobs such as Department of Public Works work crew jobs, or street sweepers, or anythng along those lines, will have the consequence of lowering the wage scale for the currently emplyed workers in the field. This was one of the largest failures in the NYC program, and it was a situation that created a legitimate rallying cry for the unions in NYC to recruit and sustain workers and also to increase the union leaderships clout in City Hall and Albany.

Welfare recipients won’t have to do this.

They’ll claim some disadvantage that keeps them from participation.

I don’t understand how it is the president’s job to make sure anyone “volunteers.” This is a forced work program and nothing less.

This plan is just another part of his redistribution of wealth plans, only it’s our time he demands. This takes away from our income potential, our families, and our churches.

Apparently half of the country has elected a community organizer in chief. Please tell me how we fight this idiot!
