I’ve ALWAYS thought this would be the perfect role for Newt.

Newt is a perfect organizer and strategist and proved it with the Contract with America; unfortunately, his personality does not lend himself to being the “leader” once the goal is accomplished, like we saw when he was Speaker. RNC Chairman would be ideal.

I agrewe with you 100%.

I don't think I've seen a person on the national scene in my lifetime who was so perfectly suited for the role of an "opposition leader" as Newt Gingrich was.

If you want to get a sense of just how successful he was, I will bring y'all back to a Vanity Fair article after the 2000 election in which the author conducted an "exit interview" of sorts with Bill Clinton before he left office.

When asked what he considered his greatest accomplishment in the White House, Clinton's response was that he successfully "stopped the Republican Revolution" after the 1994 elections. AND THIS DOPE ACTUALLY SIGNED MOST OF THE ITEMS IN THE "CONTRACT WITH AMERICA" INTO LAW.
