My Sarah Palin Experience

Posted on 11/02/2008 1:36:09 PM PST by reasonisfaith

Sarah Palin, smiling radiantly and standing several feet above the crowd in Raleigh, NC, said “You want me to sign that?” An apt question—I was surrounded by excited Palin supporters, all yelling frantically and holding out pink t-shirts and Palin photos for her autograph. The lady next to me shouted “For my daughter, Sarah!”

In my pocket I had found a piece of sloppily folded script left over from the phone campaigning I had done just prior to the event. I held it toward Governor Palin, upward and through the barrier of angry looking Secret Service men. “Yes!” was my reply. She took it in her hand and scribbled on it as I blurted out “God bless you Sarah!” The Governor’s “Thank you so much” was barely audible above the roar of the crowd.

Moments later, my wife and daughter both squealed with excitement when I showed them Palin’s gracefully scribbled autograph.

I know, it’s just a signature. But Palin is not your average vice presidential candidate.

Seeing Palin speak and having the chance to exchange brief words with her brought me later to reflect on the fact that at the moment I felt as though I already knew her personally. I believe Palin has that affect on people because of the way she speaks--like a regular person without airs or put ons—-a sign of honesty and genuineness.

Sarah Palin has demonstrated she can do anything she decides to do, and that she has all the qualities necessary to be president if called to such a duty. Intelligence, knowledge, determination, thick skin and restraint are not the least of those qualities.

After hearing the mind-numbed robots on television hysterically claim Palin lacks experience, I have yet to hear one single example of a presidential task that can be described to be above Palin's abilities. They mention no specifics because none exist. I don't care if you're David Axelrod, Pat Buchannan or Karl Rove. When you make this silly claim you reveal an intellectual blindness brought on by too many years of experience in Washington.

And yes, Governor Palin is more beautiful in person if such a thing can be possible. Frankly, I see a lot of my wife in Sarah Palin.

It might not seem like much, but I won’t soon forget it.

She did what any ordinary citizen would have done in that situation. We need more “ordinary citizens” to stand up and speak out. God Bless Sarah! She’s one of “us” that’s why MSM hates her. Thanks for sharing your experience!

The other evening there was quite the thread on how “Sarah” should be addressed with a title such as Governor. It is experiences like yours that will always endear her to us. She is “Our Sarah”, because we love her goodness. Goodness trumps experience any day.

As has been obvious for months the “transformational” figure in this election is SARAH PALIN. The “Citizen Candidate” like the Founding Fathers envisioned.

I saw Palin for the 2nd time last night in Richmond. I’d fly to PA, FL wherever to see her again if I could. She is such a genuinely nice person.

Win or Lose—Sarah Palin is the future of the Conservative Movement. She and others like Joe the Plummer must step forward to lead us in a new direction toward real change. Citizen-Politicians are needed now—not corrupt wonks.

Yes, the irrational hostility of the MSM toward Palin casts an ugly shadow on their profession.
