Did Obama Even Attend Columbia?
Three days before Election Day 2008 and much of Barack Obama’s past remains shrouded in secrecy. The same press that can tell you how much Sarah Palin’s shoes cost can’t seem to muster any curiosity over large gaps in the Obama narrative.

The remaining customers of the LA Times have been treated to the spectacle of the Times making news by not reporting news–a familiar position for the paper.
In July, even though John Edwards was caught at the Beverly Hilton visiting his mistress by reporters from the National Enquirer–and it was confirmed a few days later by Fox News–the LA Times instructed its reporters NOT to write about it on their blogs. So, readers of the LA Times are used to being kept in the dark. The Obama-Khalidi video is just the latest instance of this happening.

Did Obama Attend Columbia?
An interesting article appeared yesterday at Unqualified Reservations, “Did Barack Obama Go to Columbia?“.
Interesting because it speculates that the reason the Obama campaign has not released his Columbia records is–that Barack Obama didn’t really attend Columbia.
Far-fetched?
Perhaps, but not as far-fetched as a candidate getting this far in the political process without the press issuing its normal calls to see records.
My question is: was Barack Obama ever a student at Columbia? Because here’s how one scurrilous compendium of racist smears puts it:
Obama graduated from Columbia College in 1983, and after spending a year in New York, moved to Chicago.
Wayne Allyn Root says, “I don’t know a single person at Columbia that knows him, and they all know me. I don’t have a classmate who ever knew Barack Obama at Columbia. Ever! … Nobody recalls him. I’m not exaggerating, I’m not kidding.
Questioner: Were you the exact same class?
Root: Class of ‘83 political science, pre-law Columbia University. You don’t get more exact than that. Never met him in my life, don’t know anyone who ever met him. At the class reunion, our 20th reunion five years ago, 20th reunion, who was asked to be the speaker of the class? Me. No one ever heard of Barack! Who was he, and five years ago, nobody even knew who he was… the guy who writes the class notes, who’s kind of the, as we say in New York, the macha who knows everybody, has yet to find a person, a human who ever met him. Is that not strange? It’s very strange…
When asked about his undergraduate training at Columbia University, The New Times states that Obama “declined repeated requests to talk about his New York years, release his Columbia transcript or identify even a single fellow student, co-worker, roommate or friend from those years.”
Many of his classmates don’t remember Obama. He’s not in the yearbook. Columbia couldn’t find a picture of him at school.
What can be said with some certainty is that Mr. Obama lived off campus while at Columbia in 1981-83 and made few friends. Fox News contacted some 400 of his classmates and found no one who remembered him.
As the author, Mencius Moldbug, observes: “What is the chance that a budding young politician of undeniable talent and promise spends his junior and senior years at Columbia, and no one remembers him? What is the chance that my right ass cheek, through spontaneous quantum vibration, suddenly transmutes into a hemisphere of polished gold? Don’t you feel these probabilities are at least roughly comparable?”
The normal minions of the Obama campaign descended upon the blog, filling the comments section with their usual spammery. But, this article points to one inescapable fact.
If Obama released his Columbia records, such speculation–well-reasoned as it is–simply would not be written. Moldbug could be writing about Obama’s re-distributionary policies.
Moldbug asks a few questions that would have been answered already–if Barack Obama had released his Columbia records.
Barack or Barry - note that he is still Barry while at Occidental; at the next place we know he existed, Harvard Law, he has become Barack - spends two years at Columbia. He presumably receives two years worth of college credits. By taking two years worth of college courses.
Furthermore, in every other period of his life, he is known as the gregarious and charismatic young man he obviously was. Nor can his looks be described as ordinary. Nor is even his name ordinary. This man is a future president. And no one remembers him? No one?

There’s also another pattern: the press is perfectly satisfied to be kept in the dark. In 2004, CBS News had such a burning desire to see George Bush’s service records, they foisted forged documents onto their viewers.
Perhaps that explains why CBS News has exhibited no curiosity to see the unreleased Obama records?

Barack Obama certainly is a candidate for change. Consider:
That’s a lot of change.
It would be easy enough to dispel the speculation surrounding the past that shrouds Barack Obama: Obama could release his records from Columbia.
And Occidental College.
And Harvard University.
And his medical records.
And his original birth certificate.
But he won’t–and the press won’t ask him.
Absent any of these records–which Obama has refused to release–speculation is not only correct, it’s to be expected.
Obama has chosen to be a “fill-in-the-blanks” candidate.
Until the Obama records see the light of day, we’ll fill in a few of those blanks.
Anyone who disagrees?
They know nothing; they are merely speculating as well.
That includes pundits, MSM “journalists” and Obots lurking in the comments section.

He is the man who never was.
Yeah, he went to Colombia. It’s the only way one can be as arrogant and smug as he is. 18, 19, 20 year olds who think they’re intellectually superior to everyone else. Some of them will figure it out once they start working in the real world. But Obama never grew out of it; He spent most of his adult life on a college campus.
The media has betrayed the US public interest.

Was Obama a member of the radical Black Students Organization, or not?
As we saw above, in articles in The New York Times and Columbia College Today, Obama claims to have been a member of the Black Students Organization while at Columbia. But was he really?
This is a photo of the Columbia Black Students Organization, taken from the 1983 yearbook The Columbian. As you can see, Obama was not among them, even though 1983 was his senior year at Columbia. (The bright spot in the lower left is a reflection of the camera flash. In case you’re wonder whether the flash accidentally obscured Obama, this photo shows the missing portion of the image - which also doesn’t include Obama.) Earlier editions of the Columbian did not include photos of the BSO.
This image comes from the Black Students Organization’s own history page. Both the image and the text depict the BSO (and its predecessors; before 1976, the Black student group at Columbia changed names several times) as being extremely radical; famously, in 1968, the Black student group “armed with guns” took over a building on campus and initiated a complete shutdown of Columbia. After their heyday in the late ‘60s and early ‘70s, things calmed down somewhat, but they kept up their radical activism continuously since that time.
Yet, no mention of Obama is made anywhere on their site. And the same New York Observer article linked to above, states:
The former vice president of the Black Students Organization, senior Mark Attiah, was shocked to learn that Obama was even a member of the BSO. “I knew that he graduated from Columbia, but he doesn’t talk about it that much, which I get,” Mr. Attiah said.... Coincidentally, Mr. Attiah worked at the 25th reunion of the class of ‘83 last year, and not surprisingly, reported that Senator Obama did not attend.... In fact, there is not a single picture of Senator Obama in any of the yearbooks from the period when he was a student—he is not even listed as absent in the BSO photo from 1983.
In fact, aside from Obama’s own assertion, I could find no real evidence suggesting that he was a member of the Black Students Organization at Columbia. Again, his claims do not stand up under scrutiny.

There was a story that at the University of Colorado (not really it was a smaller school)a fraternity put a dog through school. Everyone in the Frat took turns going and taking a class. At the day of graduation they marched the dog up on the podium for its degree. So why not ObaMao?

WhenIi wrote a letter to the NYPost critical of Bloomberg last summer I received calls and emails from guys I went to Fordham with in 69 whom I hadn't talked to in 20 years.I was no BMOC either.
Also, Obama claims to have lived in a building in the 90s netween 1st and 2nd Avenues. That's almost 3 miles from Columbia and there is no direct bus or subway. Transfers must be made. He claims the building was drug ravaged. If so how did he study? Also there was rent. If rent controlled, it was certainly not in his name or any transient. And rents below 96 street, if not controlled, were not the sort that fit an undergrad'sbudget. Most Columbia undergrads live in dorms, frats, or off campus apartments. Obama's residence was none of those.
How did he get into Harvard? Could be connections. Ayers was in NYC at Bank Street at that time. Mansour was supposed to have called upon Percy Sutton to recommend Obama to Harvard.Despite his mild demeanor and his honorable service as a Tuskeegee Flyer, Sutton was a devoted left wing Black activist who praised the cult of personality in his close run for the Democrat nomination for mayor.
Radical connections, a tricked up transcript, a good day on the LSATs and presto Harvard law.

I believe he changed his name back to Barack in the early 80’s, 1981 when he came back from Pakistan. So he would have been Barack at this time.

I’ve done every conceiveable job one could do. Is this why that when a man gets dirt under his fingernails he values honor, courage, dignity and votes accordingly?
Someone posted a photo the other day of Barack in a Harvard Law Review class photo and he was so obviously photoshopped. I don’t know if that was a real Harvard picture or not. I mean him being named first black Law Review President would be something difficult to fake, but who has talked to someone he went to Harvard with.
And if he didn’t go to Columbia, where did he go to college to have the Pakistani roommates? Occidental?
What are the odds that this man has been fabricated from the start? I mean he would have tons of terrorists with connections around him from the beginning, even in Indonesia at a young age.
And then, people have worked for months and years as a fraudulent doctor, fooling wives, co-workers, etc... Can someone go to Harvard on fake Columbia transcripts if you have a Saudi Prince on your side?
I don’t think he’s ever had a real job.
