This made me laugh.
She probably thought: "If I get into an argument with this nutjob, I'm gonna get the same treatment Dustin Hoffman got in Marathon Man."
GMTA! While you were posting #62, I was posting #63! Talk about a co-winkydink!
Her unprofessionalism is stunning. Medical professionals are supposed to treat each patient with respect and neutrality, regardless of their race, sex, political affiliation etc. If my dentist went off on a political rant, regardless of their views, I’d find another dentist. I have no idea where my dentist or doctor stand politically, and I doubt they know my political views, either.
Heck, the guy who cuts my hair is a gay Morrocan guy. I guaranty we do not agree much when it comes to politics- but he never brings it up (and neither do I) because he wants my business and does not want to annoy me. If a hair-dresser can figure this out, it shouldn’t be so hard for a dentist.
Geez, why bother? Just take her out to lunch and let the others go their merry, deluded way.
Orders from Der Skinner!

Much better.
;-)
I am a pastor. My job is to talk. I give a 15-20 minute "speech" at least once a week, plus at least an hour or two of classes in which I lead the discussion. Often the subject matter can run close to the line between theology and politics. But I actually am a minister of the gospel, and see that as my calling--unlike Jesse Jackson, Al Sharpton, Jeremiah Wright, and Michael Pfleger. So I do not abuse my "bully pulpit" (literally).
Now, I tell my parishioners, if we are at the cafe, talking over lunch, and I take off my clerical collar, then I may discuss my personal views on political candidates, if that's what you want to talk about. But then I am speaking only as a fellow citizen, not as your pastor.
If anyone every tries to play that race card on me, I let them know that I voted for Herman Cain in the Senate primary a couple of years ago. If he had made it past the primary, I would have voted for him in the Senate race.
So there!
LOL! We were definitely on the same wavelength there.
Aaa-OOGA! Aaa-OOGA! Batten down the hatches! All you LOUSY FREEPER TROLLS, be sure to get inside the DUmp before they close the gates! This is all! Der Skinner has spoken!
*snort* I knew ya get a kick outta it!
I started asking him things like "Do you know about his support for Kenyan Odinga?" "Do you know that his tax hikes on small businesses will increase prices and unemployment?" "Do you support his socialist redistribution plans - such as giving 'tax breaks' to people who don't even pay taxes?"
He never heard of any of that. He just thinks "Bush has messed up and they have to go."
I started to try to convert him, but it was impossible to talk facts and knowledge with a person who has zero of both as a starting point. Facts and knowledge aren't even factors in his political decision making. It's all emotional.
Then I realized, he lives in NY, so changing his mind wasn't even going to matter. And then I remembered further that he spent time in prison and under house arrest for mob-related gambling charges. He's probably not even able to vote anyway, that's why he stated he was "pulling" for Obama rather than voting for Obama.
I had better things to do with my time than teach calculus to a carrot.
An “I survived NOLA” button.
Souveniers from the chocolate city!
That's about the depth of the "reasoning" of a lot of people who might otherwise vote for a Republican in other years. Compound that with a) the fawning MSM not doing any serious investigation into Obambi, and b) McCain as our messenger, and you see what we're up against. Even so, with all that, we could still win!
"I walked into the room to check a patient who had just had her dental prophylaxis."
A member of the pizzabox-jihad using a grown-up technical term to appear bona fide.
That's the case with AT LEAST 30% of the American electorate, maybe closer to 40%.
My best friend’s neighbor is a Catholic and a female AF Academy graduate. She voted for Obama, because “Sarah Palin is stupid.” Never mind issues or the position of the Church.
Sigh. How stupid is someone who listens to nothing but TV pundits and Hollywood?
I want my tax dollars back for her education!
