I watched it and I just don’t get the feeling that McCain is up to the task of strenuously defending her. I don’t understand why he mentions Todd Palin when trying to point out her accomplishments. I like Todd but he has nothing to do with her tenure as mayor and governor. McCain should have a list of her accomplishments by now. He should be able to clearly define them and he just drops the ball, time after time.

I think McCain handled it just right. McCain is a GROWN UP!!

He said it right..."Sarah Palin NEEDS NO DEFENSE"

Goed Bless McCain and God Bless Sarah...I am praying for BOTH OF YOU TO WIN AND WIN BIG!!!! I LOVE YOU BOTH FOR YOUR CHARACTER AND DIGNITY AND WILLINGNESS TO PUT OUR NATION FIRST! YOU HAVE BOTH STOOD UP TO YOUR OWN PARTY AND I ADMIRE THAT GREATLY!!!

BUT MOSTLY, MOSTLY, I LOVE YOU FOR DEFENDING AND STANDING FOR OUR TROOPS! YOU WILL KEEP US SAFE! AND FREE! AND I KNOW YOU WILL BOTH GO AFTER CORRUPTION AND WASTE.

McCain said at the beginning of the interview she needed no defense. To have started on the typical talking points might well have made that statement irrelevant. I liked his response for the most part. (Like you, I was a little curious about the Todd reference.)

McCain often has a dismissive manner that is lost. It wasn't lost on Brokow. He got it.

And in all fairness, he has come out in defense of Palin...strongly...when needed. Sarah seems to be doing a more than adequate job of getting her message across.

She draws big crowds, people like her. Contrary to what the media says.
