Here is video from Meet the Press today where Tom Brokaw really pressed John McCain on the subject of Sarah Palin. McCain told Brokaw that Palin "needs no defense," and that he is "incredibly proud of her." . . . . (Watch Video)

When everyone is gunning for Sarah Palin you have to know it isn’t because she’s the weak link. Its because if you take her down, you end McCain’s campaign in the flash of an eye.
She is the warrior who has kept him in the game. Every morning she says her prayers and goes out to do battle on behalf of that man, and he is within an inch of the presidency because of her. I don’t know if he realizes it, but I think he had better.
He said it right..."Sarah Palin NEEDS NO DEFENSE"
Goed Bless McCain and God Bless Sarah...I am praying for BOTH OF YOU TO WIN AND WIN BIG!!!! I LOVE YOU BOTH FOR YOUR CHARACTER AND DIGNITY AND WILLINGNESS TO PUT OUR NATION FIRST! YOU HAVE BOTH STOOD UP TO YOUR OWN PARTY AND I ADMIRE THAT GREATLY!!!
BUT MOSTLY, MOSTLY, I LOVE YOU FOR DEFENDING AND STANDING FOR OUR TROOPS! YOU WILL KEEP US SAFE! AND FREE! AND I KNOW YOU WILL BOTH GO AFTER CORRUPTION AND WASTE.
quite frankly I don’t understand how mccain and others keep their cool over the subject of palins experience. it us incredibly insulting. I think it is nothing more than a smoke screen to mask Nobamas inexperience.
IIRC brokaw was interviewed last year and said msm wasn’t biased at all and conservatives are just making it up. i had a teacher who said fnc was conservative. of course she was a 1 so anything moderate like a 5 for fmc looks conservative to her. as i was older, more experienced and much smarter than she was, she never bothered me in class.
Tom “empty” Brokenjaw Is a typically extended propaganda arm of the DNC, which is nothing new. Screw him!!!
She doesn’t need a defense but she needs the presidential nominee to clearly explain why she is a good VP nominee. I don’t think McCain effectively makes the case for her.
Not even McCain can produce a record of executive experience like Sarah can...her state LOVES her because she has SERVED THEM and NOT herself.
The main stream press HAS to keep her record quiet because if America were to fully understand what she has done for her state----there would be NO STOPPING MCCAIN and PALIN!
McCain often has a dismissive manner that is lost. It wasn't lost on Brokow. He got it.
And in all fairness, he has come out in defense of Palin...strongly...when needed. Sarah seems to be doing a more than adequate job of getting her message across.
She draws big crowds, people like her. Contrary to what the media says.
To me, McCain sounds lost rather than dismissive. He constantly fumbles his words and doesn’t mount a good rebuttal. On several occasions he begins one thought and switches gears, so he’s all over the map. I just think he should have a better grip on the points he wants to make.
A lot of what he wants to convey remains locked away.He very often makes a short statement, with no explanation. Unless one watches every interview he gives you don't know what the heck is is talking about, and who the heck can do that.
Example:
60 Minutes interview: “I can cut defense spending.” (even the interviewer was speechless)
3rd debate: “I can, and have, cut defense spending by monitoring military contracts.”
Sadly, for us, he is not a good speaker, he is one that expects us to read his mind. Odd for a politician. But he can sometimes speak well.
I was not a McCainiac and still am not. But the slick talking alternative scares me. (And what is even more amazing, the “slick talker” was not in the beginning, he's just a fast learner.)
TWICE he mentioned that she wasn’t qualified to be PRESIDENT!!! Nobody caught it. Guffaw...
One of Bush’s inadequacies has been his poor communication skills. I think the same holds true for McCain. And it has hurt him in this campaign. If you want to mount a good offense and defense, you have to be a good communicator with a strong, consistent message. McCain and his campaign has failed at that.
