This evening in Miami, Sen. Barack Obama taped an interview with Ellen DeGeneres for a piece that will air tomorrow on her show -- a surprise appearance.

About the time I clicked on this thread, the following email from PFOX arrived. I receive them due to a ministry at church. Maybe Ellen and he should discuss it:
OBAMA DODGES EX-GAY ISSUE!
Please ask Obama
Senator Barack Obama has pledged to pass far-reaching sexual orientation and transgender legislation as President.
The Employment Non-Discrimination Act (ENDA), which Obama pledges to sign, will outlaw discrimination based on sexual orientation, gender identity, and gender expression. These categories include homosexuals, transgenders, and cross-dressers. ENDA would apply to private employers, the Federal Government, all State governments, and local governments in all 50 states. ENDA will cover the Nation even though most states do not have laws requiring employers to hire and promote regardless of gender identity and sexual orientation.
Obamas new law will create legal rights for men who have changed their gender, but what about men who have changed their sexual orientation? Transgenders and cross-dressers are affirmed for changing their gender but former homosexuals are ridiculed for making the decision to change their sexual orientation. Indeed, the ex-gay community is the most maligned group in America.
Each year men and women with unwanted same-sex attractions make the personal decision to leave a gay identity via secular therapy, faith based ministries, or other non-judgmental environments. Their decision is one only they can make. However, there are others in society who refuse to respect individual self-determination. Consequently, formerly gay men and women are reviled simply because they dare to exist.
For example, there is not one positive portrayal of an ex-gay on television. Instead, ex-gays are continually berated on shows like Boston Legal and Law and Order. No other minority group receives this kind of disrespect and outright disdain.
And it doesnt end there. Former homosexuals and their allies have been fired from their jobs, repeatedly ridiculed, assaulted, and intimidated. This harassment is most often perpetrated by the same groups who demand protection under sexual orientation laws but work to deny ex-gays the same respect. Unlike gay groups, ex-gay groups are routinely denied equal access to participate in public school events, donate books to public school libraries, and present speakers on diversity day. Ex-gay conferences across the county are frequently picketed by gay rights groups. Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac donate funds to gay organizations, but not ex-gay ones.
Senator Obama knows about this discriminatory treatment firsthand. When ex-gay gospel singer Donnie McClurkin sang at an Obama fundraiser last year, gay rights organizations demanded that Obama remove McClurkin from the program. On CNN Prime News, former Human Rights Campaign spokesperson Wayne Besen insisted that Obama should fire McClurkin just for being ex-gay.
Former homosexuals should have the right to be out, open and safe in society. On his website, Senator Obama says he supports gay and transgender rights because he supports civil rights for all persons, but does that include ex-gays? Americans need to know where Obama stands on the issue of ex-gay inclusion because his pledge to pass homosexual and transgender legislation as President will affect all of us.

When Grandma’s sick?
Instead of rushing to his Grandmother, who's health is deteriorating,
Obama chooses to dance on a TV show?
Shows a lot about his priorities.
Gag me with a pitchfork.
Oh, and let's see, his grandmother is soooo ill that he has to DROP EVERYTHING and run to her aid ummm.... Thursday.... but first...... LET'S HAVE A LITTLE DANCE! Right on national television! I guess a sick grandma and looming national crisis can wait while he has a little dance now can't it?
Now all we need is “Dancing Queen” by Abba.
” Didnt he do this once before? “
At least once, perhaps twice.
Ditto Michelle-who looked like an Amazon in the clip I saw.
Barry looked like a 17 yr old doing some hip hop audition for MTV.
I have said from the minute I saw the first dance-the McCain camp or the RNC should just run that clip.
Over and over and over.
Deny it that it worked so well before...
LOL
You shoulda put “dance” in quotations, too...
‘Course he kin dance!
Started with the whole boxers or briefs garbage.
Now, we get to know that Kerry sleeps commando. Yuck
Wow. He’s really good. /s
You mean he isn’t dancing right off to see his ill granny? Toss her under the bus again.
I’m with you. Besides hasn’t he already danced on Ellen’s show? If my grandmother was dying, no matter what, I’d be with her no matter what. But that;s jsut me?
Perhaps after all the glowing press he got today. I mean I wish his Grandma well, sincerely, but if she is gravely ill perhaps Barack should have flown out today. Or yesterday. Or maybe when she was laid up in the hospital.
