Conservatives and Republicans fear the Democrats will impose the Fairness Doctrine on talk radio if Obama wins in November. While they rightly worry about the Fairness Doctrine, they fail to pay attention to other plans the Democrats have for controlling the media.
Under the guise of improving diversity and attention to local affairs, Obama explicity states his goals in a 2007 press release after an FCC hearing in Chicago . Here are a sampling of reports.....
"Obama Urges FCC to Reduce Length of TV Station Licenses By Ira Teinowitz of TV Week September 21, 2007 Democratic presidential hopeful Barack Obama is throwing out more hints that the Federal Communications Commission would have a somewhat different focus if he wins the election. At Thursday night's FCC media ownership hearing in Chicago, an aide read a statement in which the Illinois senator complimented the FCC for holding the hearing but questioned some of the FCC's past focus on easing ownership rules. Sen. Obama said the FCC should reduce the length of TV station licenses and get more input, more often, on how well stations are serving community needs.

Consistent with his community organizing.
A bottom up Maoist type of control.
In Cuba you can watch Channel Numero Uno to hear Castro, or you can switch over to Channel Numero Dues where a mustachiod man in fatigues and mirror sunglasses will point his cigar at you and tell you by name that you better go back to Channel Numero Uno.
It would be a delicious irony if the Obamessiah turned around and squatted on the very drive by media outlets that have taken every possible opportunity to get him elected. The DBM ave squandered every ounce of their morality and professional ethics (if they ever had any) on dissing McCain and ignoring Obama’s considerable list of negatives and questionable background.

Does anyone here think this can be avoided without using at least some force when the media is wholly in the tank for communism?

I can see people getting around the fairness doctrine somehow, even if it means flying to Canada or the Caymans for the week and broadcasting on shortwave. I don’t know whether Rush is still on shortwave, but I remember he was at one time.
Thank goodness I have cable TV and satellite radio. At least there will still be something worth watching and listening to after Little Lord Obama changes NBC’s name to Pravda and CBS’s name to Izvestia.
important ping
This is getting very scary folks.
ask someone who works in the broadcast industry what a pain in the a** license renewal is. Reams of paperwork and trivial documentation, a full-employment bill for lawyers.
“I heard it on the X”
Expect a new bloody civil war, with the seeds planted for such starting with bringing back the “UNFairness Doctrine.”
How about “Indirect Censorship”?
The point is to censor conservative views by making them unprofitable, since the opposing ‘equal time’ liberal view might as well be dead air as far as advertisers are concerned.
fairness doctrine won’t matter. There will be a community review board monitoring the station and a federal rule saying it has to give coverage to “local” content that will be vaguely defined.
ObaMarx.
The “fairness” doctrine isn’t fair at all. I hope it doesn’t come back.
