This is a cool little site where you can prove Obama is a liar on taxes. Just plug in your income and the year 2008, then try it for 2000, to compare how much higher they will be after the Bush tax cuts are repealed. You'll be shocked how "patriotic" your increase will be.

My 2000 Tax: 83,489
My 2008 Tax: 70,799
Nice tax increase. The calculator isn’t so great though...it’d be better just to show what the before and after effects of obama’s tax plans are (maybe breakdown the expiration of bush tax cuts and obama’s new taxes).
Link to the actual calculator maybe? It was strange to click the calculator and get a png file instead of a link to it, at the lest.
I sent the link out with this message -
“I think if you spread it around, you will do everyone some good ; }”
Nope.
Then the calculator is meaningless.
The link from diefree at 12 is a PRO obama site. The original link at The Patriot Room from Bill DuPray is one that factors in the rescinding of the tax cut.
Worked fine for me. Thanks, I emailed a couple dozen people the site and the links. Hopes it goes viral.
The whole frigggging point is to compare your 2008 taxes with the same income in 2000. Under 0bama the 2009 rate will equal the 2000 rate. Get it?
Joe the plumber was right!
Lovely... my taxes go up almost 12K
Folks who support this are idiots. This calculator should be posted on every conservative website and broadcast to the world.
If you look at an example; married couple making 75K a year, their taxes are going to go up from $11,438 to $15,300. Almost $4K. If you then factor in the $1K “credit” that Obama will give this family, they are still short $3K if they stuck with the current plan.
Meanwhile, I’m stuck with an extra $12K.
The funny thing is, it isn’t that I’m paying $1K to twelve families, it is that the 12 families are paying themselves 1K after paying 4K more to taxes...
I think that the Obama Tax Cut will be as follows:
Line A: How much did you make in 2009
Line B: How much did you spend foolishly in 2009:
Line C: Difference in Line A-Line B
Line D: Send Obama Line A
That site sucks. It says I’ll get an extra $429.42 back from Barry’s Tax plan over McCain’s. I don’t believe it.
Yes I get it. And the reason for comparing 2008 with 2000 is because 2000 taxes were before the Bush tax cuts. If obama wins the Bush tax cuts will expire because congress did not make them permanent. That is why the site that diefree posted is not as accurate as the OP’s site.
Actually, I’m confused. If I go to http://www.taxpolicycenter.org/publications/url.cfm?ID=411759 it is unclear what portions of Bush’s tax cuts stick around after either candidate.
From what I gather, the Obama link touts his tax cuts BEFORE the Bush tax cuts expire. I don’t know if the Obama site is truthful but I know that I make out better with McCain
Gulp...up $4k and we don’t really make a massive amount of money...I HAVE to show my wife this, hopefully this will make her vote McCain instead of Obama, but I doubt it unfortunately...
Well, if obama wins it will probably be a moot point because he may also have a house and senate with a dem majority that will immediately repeal the Bush tax cuts and start over with rates that are nothing like his proposals. He also will probably do nothing to change the Alternative Minimum Tax level as McCain has said he wants to change.
ABC reported today how Obama’s economic plan was better. They had some “expert” who made it look like you would save so much with That One.
