Quite possibly McCain will destroy conservatives as a power in the Republican party, but is that any reason to turn the Republic over to Obama and his puppet masters?
That depends on how conservative you are I suppose... Some could argue that we deserve 4 years of Obama for nominating a liberal “Republican”
David
McCain can promise judges, but that's empty. No nominee even close to conservative can make it through the Senate without being borked. That's a cheap promise. I will admit that support of the military MAY be lessened, but I'm not so sure. Obama isn't going out of Iraq; he wants to go into Pakistan after Bin Laden; and the really bad thing is that we might be in Darfur or any other of the "developing" nations. I hate that. Of course, any of that is predicated on the wild assumption that he is telling the truth.
But neither of them has a clue about economics--each thinks the government can help recovery or "create" jobs. Both are wrong on immigration, campaign conversions aside.
I'm not trying to convince you or anyone. I'm just giving my reasons. We all have to vote our conscience, and you're a good man who will make the right decision as he sees it.
I just think it's not much of an overstatement to say that in 20 years, we'll all be Chinese (or Spanish) speaking slaves in the North American Union, trying to purchase Vegan Food or Soylent Green with Ameros and carbon credits.
It's not conservatives voting these RINOs in. It's rank and file Republicans, some of whom are only slightly better informed than your average liberal.
Nope.
if you recall the primary.. the conservative vote was split among several candidates thus making it easy for the RINO to win.. conservatives needed to rally around Duncan Hunter in the primary, and they did not.. all that “Duncan who?” crap made me sick...
Well, what you said is that you "wish conservatives would stop voting in these RINOs." I took that statement at face value, hence my response that we're not.
Duncan Hunter was my guy too, but looking at his bid for the nomination in retrospect, he didn't have the stuff to win it. Unfortunately, it takes more than just being right on most issues to rally people to you.
I agree that it takes more than being “right on most issues” to support a candidate..... the folks who aggressively opposed Duncan Hunter said that it was because of “name recognition” -— that is about the dumbest reason to NOT support a candidate
I love Duncan Hunter, but he’s about as inspiring as yesterday’s cold toast.
It takes a gregarious and engaging personality - one who has a good deal of natural spunk, to invigorate people to follow them. Duncan just doesn’t have that.
Duncan was also trying for the Presidency from the unlikely station of the US House. That’s a tough place to mount a national campaign from. It was also why he didn’t have the “name recognition” you spoke of.
The only qualification that matters to me for POTUS is leadership.. and the character/world view/thought process to make the RIGHT decision.

Traditional American Values and Over DOSE on GLOATING about SARAH and her family.
She punches all the tickets, NRA, Hunter, Hockey Mom, Mayor, Governor, roots out corruption, and takes out even Corrupt Repubs, yeah, she has my vote.
I propose we suspend term limits when she gets in, Sarah Palin President for LIFE!
And best Vice Presidential Pick in 200 years!
Do I sound too subdued?
Obama is going to lynch and shoot my family!
Nothing positive about your candidate, huh? I take no comfort at all, and will not. We blew it when we didn't hold the current disaster's feet to the fire and we blew it when McCain got nominated (as if we had anything to say about it--I know absolutely no one who voted for him in the primaries). If he gets elected, we will be blowing the 2012 election and our country's future, the same as if Obama gets elected.
Now, let me see...other campaign slogans you might use:
Obama will shoot my dog.
Obama will have an affair with my wife (or brother).
Obama will make me pay reparations by chopping cotton.
Any other positives you can think of for McCain?
Thanks. If I had earned the respect of people like you, I would be alarmed. Fall in line, lemming.
Don’t worry. You have no cause for alarm.
Not many, but I am sure that there are bigger differences between McCain and Obama than there are between Obama and Bill Ayers. I am also sure that if Ayers had the power, he would kill us. If you can explain to me any way to be sure that Obama is not still a soulmate of Ayers, maybe I would consider taking your attitude.
