I happen to be a member of the "conservative wing" of the Republican party, and McCain was my LAST choice in the Primary. My Dream ticket during the Primary was Duncan Hunter/Sarah Palin..... I was thrilled to see McCain was able to convince Sarah Palin to join his ticket, however I am afraid it just might not be enough.. Sarah Palin is doing a great job energizing us conservatives, however it takes more than "vote for me becuase my opponent is worse" camaign to win an election.... few if any conservatives are excited about the "McCain" campaign which is reflected in the poll, however I am cautiously optimistic than come November, many of us will hold our nose and vote for McCain just because of Sarah Palin.
The answer to THIS question WILL decide this election IMHO.

The crowds showing up to hear her would indicate affirmatively that she has motivated the conservative base and a portion of ‘independents’. I think the only question is whether it will be whether McCain himself can win over enough other voters.
YEs. Next question.
Of course Sarah Palin is enough to get McCain elected. She is the only reason McCain is competitive at all.
Sarah + Joe the Plumber + the socialist plans of BHO + the promise to protect life + winning the GWOT = McCain win.
BHO supporters consist of: AA’s, young stupid people, the MSM, and now ultra-RINO country club Republicans. Last I checked, they didn’t make up 50% of the population, so we got a chance.
Governor Palin sealed the deal: I went from holding my nose for mccain to bragging about supporting Sarah.
Okay, I gotta say it. If the Catholics of this nation would stick to their values and beliefs they would vote McCain just because of his pro life stance. A vote for Obama is a vote for abortion. They have to know the first thing he will do is sign the Freedom of choice Act. Yet, so many catholics avoid this issue, don’t they know their God is watching? And how bout all the African American Baptists? What’s their excuse. They aren’t pro life either? Too many Christians today are afraid to stand up for what is right! do the right thing and vote your conscience!
Sarah Palin is enough to let God know that we seek his mercy and if we get it, we’ll have her as VP otherwise we will know God has handed us over to our own fate with Obama. God have mercy please.
Honestly, I went from holding my nose... to bragging about Sarah, to being worried if we can really win it... again I am cautiously optimistic.. I just wish there were more “good reasons” to vote for McCain other than “The other guys is worse”

It’s not conservatives I’m worried about anymore.
It’s mush-minded moderates and swing voters...who at one point a month ago were mostly leaning McCain, but have now drank the Obama kool-aid hook, line, and sinker according to recent polls.
THAT is what worries me.
great analysis my FRiend
Me, too. I don’t like McCain but he is a triple heck better than the Communist....and I LOVE Palin....so, voted for her...and dragged McCain along.....I don’t care anyone’s reason to vote GOP...as long as they do...and if some conservatives are too ignorant or whatever to realize that allowing Obama to win is absolutely disastrous...then they should be totally ashamed....and should question themselves as to why they would allow a fledgling Communist to become our President. It is appalling!!!!!
Good post!
That makes two of us!!!!
BTTT
im hoping she is good enough to get republicans to the polls.
Isn’t that the same argument that many folks used when they chose McCain in PRIMARY?
When is the GOP ever going to learn that CONSERVATISIM when properly applied/expressed WINS elections... period.. there are a LOT of conservative voters out there that will sit at home, or vote 3rd party because they are not happy with McCain.. a lot more of those IMHO... than there are left leaning swing voters who will probably pull the lever for the “D” no matter who it is...
This is one Catholic that is voting for McCain. It fails me in understanding in how anyone whos calls themself a good Catholic could even consider casting a vote for Obama. Also I am voting for a Democratic Republic, not a SOCIALIST Republic which is what you are guaranteed to get if Obama is elected.
Do I agree with McCain 100%? Absolutely not, I originally pulled more for Thompson or Hunter. Do I agree with Obama on any of his proposals? None, zero, nada.
So in the end I am voting my morals. So sad to see that much of the country lacks morals anymore.
In past times, the people of a town realized that when the enemy was at the gates, they had to stand together to defeat him. Petty differences about who was the better baron, or what storekeeper vended the best goods, or who baked the best bread (i.e., who is "conservative enough"), were set aside for the greater cause of preserving the town, because without that the other things were moot. We need to recognize that the barbarians are at the gates now, and if we don't stand in the breach, who will?
"but is she enough to get conservatives to pull the lever for McCain ?"
If Obama himself isnt, I really question the thought process of the so called conservatives. Palin on the ticket should only bring a smile on their faces when they do vote for McCain. Not voting or voting for a third party is a vote for Obama IMHO.
