That was my point. It is an intensifying technique used in revival meetings.

I could never be hypnotized. I am too much of a realist. Almost to a fault. Sometimes it would be soooo good just to let it go and be a dreamer. I guess I could even be called a cynic.

Complete and sudden overthrow of the US government. Communism or Marxism with the intent on murdering Christains and Republicans. Reeducation camps for the ones willing to change. Murder for the ones who won’t change. A Nazi Germany kind of rule in America. Horrors that Americans cannot even imagine. Maybe Islamic rule. That would be the worst.

I was raised by a mother w/Borderline Personality Disorder/Narcissism. These folks are excellent in sales positions. They can take on the persona of whomever they are with, like a chameleon, and will repeat the beliefs of others as though they are their own. The NLP is like a mirror. They can make some people believe that they are agreeing with them or that they have high admiration for them and they can use this to influence the behavior of others. However, they have nothing but contempt for everyone else, with the possible exception of those who believe them so strongly that they can mistake it for love.

They also have an off/on switch. They can turn the charisma on and off in an instant, and when it is off, they display a very flat affect. Tears, anger and other emotional displays are usually reactions to failing to sway someone. When they cannot succeed in influencing someone, they will descend to condescension, ridicule and mockery and then become simply withdrawn behind a brick wall of non-response. They do this as a punishment toward those who do not share their inflated self-regard.

While I can be initially hypnotized, it doesn't hold for very long. In the presence of manipulators, I get all the symptoms of cognitive dissonance, including a weird sort of ringing in my ears and extreme discomfort. If it continues for very long, I become physically nauseated and will have to vomit. However, it doesn't effect me across a TV screen, only in person.I am unaffected by zerO, except that he literally elicits my disgust, has from the first viewing and I do not get any sense of attractiveness from him. I accept that others do, obviously, since it is unavoidable.

I can tell you that there is one thing these people cannot handle well and that is being openly laughed at. They can carry a grudge for literally a lifetime and never forget anyone who tells them anything that goes against their self-image. They are dependent on each *sale*. It is like a fix for an addict. They lie to themselves and believe the lies to the point where they will refuse to accept any other opinion of their performance.

Here's a clue about zerO: there have been no real friends that he has kept throughout his life who have come forward to tell us about his human side. There are mentors, fixers, political connections, sycophants and those along for the ride, but not the close buddy who is the next thing to a sibling because they never let their guard down and they will not let anyone get too close for too long. They are only generous to those they feel are their inferiors and it is more patronizing than generosity. They also have no real private hobbies or passions distinct from their goal of making everyone realize their greatness. They may, however, have some self-destructive obsession or addiction, like gambling or sex addiction or compulsive shopping. They can be foolhardy risk-takers.

I feel very sorry for his daughters. They may well internalize his behavior and spend their lives being attracted to other narcissists and assorted manipulators or become such, themselves. It is untreatable, incurable and a lasts in lifetime. They also have very long life spans.

I wouldn't give Oblammo the credit for being smart enough to hypnotize anyone. He's only going by the Marxist playbook in that a lie repeated often enough will cause some people to believe it.

Also, most of the obama supporters are not all that bright, and are only voting for him for the politically correct NOVELTY of having the first black president (and we're the racists...right!).

And finally, if it is hypnotism, then the stupider someone is, the easier they are able to be hypnotized.

There is something very sinister about Obama. Its something people just can feel in their bones. He makes the rest of the democrats seem like pesky little flies than can be easily swatted away. I have talked to really diehard democrats who feel it, too. One lady actually called my daughter in the middle of the night crying about how she had an overwhelming fear of Obama and had the same overwhelming urge to help get McCain elected. She was one of those diehard democrats who had argued with us for years about how great the democrats were. She was really afraid. She even apologized and said she felt so guilty for voting for democrats all those times because she felt like she had helped Obama get this far. Somehow I don’t think she is the only democrat coming to this conclusion. I believe there is a different feeling about this election and we all feel it.

Yeah and what’s up with Iranian caviar?
They should be buying and supporting American caviar.
There was a ban on caviar from the Caspian sea as the fish stocks were dwindling. Apparently the ban was lifted.
Personally I just think someone running for President should make every effort to support American business. Choosing domestic caviar over Iranian should be a no-brainer.

But that is just not -right-!

The friend I spoke of earlier prides herself as a “seeker of truth”.

I have tons of stuff I wish I could send her to make her see the danger of a Zero presidency but she simply shuts down any possibility of imperfection and if I push it, she goes uncharacteristically berserk.

It breaks my heart but she is totally unreachable.

She is against partial birth abortion yet will pull the lever for *him*??

It makes no sense.

Palance did a great job at alternately showing his disgust then showing a certain glee about sick, vile, or disgusting things. He was good.

I feel old now.

It was a fun and spirited thread.

Roll with it.

[and the SCOTUS decision on ACORN was *far* more “ridiculous”]
