Why Joe the Plumber Matters (despite his personal problems)
Joe Wurzelbach (the Plumber) has suddenly become nationally known, a true overnight sensation, because of his confrontation with Senator Barack Obama over taxes and the subsequent discussions that ensued during Wednesday's third presidential debate about Senator Obama's response to Joe's question. Senator McCain pointed out that Senator Obama told Joe that he is going to "spread the wealth around". It was a slip-up of monumental proportion that I believe will cost Obama the presidency. Obama and his supporters know this as well, which is why they have set out to DESTROY Joe the Plumber's life. Let's look at the things that we've now heard about this guy:
1. He is not a plumber (he is - he's just not licensed, so he works under a licensed plumber)
2. His real name isn't Joe (it is - it's his middle name. I go by my middle name too.)
3. He doesn't really make $250,000 per year (he never said he did)
4. He once lived in Alaska and once also lived in Arizona (I think this is supposed to make us think that he's a sleeper agent for the McCain campaign and that this was all set up in 2000 - that Joe has just been living in Ohio all these years, waiting for the eventual Democratic nominee to come walking through his neighborhood so that he could finally spring "Operation McCain Rescue" into action)
5. He owes back taxes (many Americans do, including Charles Rangel, the Democratic chairman of the House Ways and Means Committee, which oversees the budget and taxation process)
6. His driver's license in Arizona was suspended in 2000 or 2001 for failure to pay a traffic citation, so he shouldn't be able to have a driver's license in Ohio (true, I guess, although it's possible that it's an honest mistake on his part. For the record, Barack Obama paid $375 in parking citations and fines to Harvard back in January - these were tickets that he received when he was a student at Harvard many years ago)
Now, I don't care a whiff about any of the above, and neither should you, because the story of Joe the Plumber doesn't have anything to do with Joe the Plumber, really. It has everything to do with Barack Obama - a man who, despite his best efforts to hide his true intentions for the American taxpayer, couldn't make it until the end of the campaign without uttering the truth to someone, somewhere. It wouldn't have mattered if it were Joe the Plumber, or Jane the Teacher, or Sam the Butcher, or Karen the hairstylist asking the question. The question wasn't important, nor was the questioner. The important thing is that in his ANSWER to the question, Barack Obama let his guard down and told us the truth for once about his true intentions.
He really does intend to "spread the wealth around". That means he wants to take money from some people and give it to others. The sad thing is that there are so many in this country who will say "right on!" to this kind of thinking. It's unfair and un-American. Obama's whole "tax cut to 95% of all Americans" has been a lie from the very start - the sole purpose of which was to wrap a bow around this socialist program that he really had in mind all along. The truth is that 40% of all Americans don't even pay taxes, so how can that 40% get a tax cut? In Obama-speak, they are getting "refundable tax credits", which means that they will get refunds from the government even though they paid no taxes. Again - unfair and un-American. Joe the Plumber knew that, and that's why he asked the question in the first place.
The real tragedy here, and it is truly quite telling as to what's going on in this campaign, is that in two days, we now know more about Joe Wurzelbach and his "shady" past than we know after two years of the Obama campaign. If only the press would dig as hard into Obama's past associations as they have Plumber Joe's.
Bingo!
If Karl Marx said “white is white,” I wouldn’t doubt the truth of the statement because of his “personal problems.”
How can I link and post to my Facebook?
Joe ask The One a hard question, and your not allowed to do that.
The truth is, when increasing the taxes on seniors, small business and corporations does not generate enough revenue to pay for the welfare checks and all his other promises, Obama will start raising taxes on everyone.
Well, you can just copy and paste it as your own “note” if you want, or you can paste the URL using the “Share a Link” option on your wall.
Black Racist Oblack is a Thug and so are his minions. Even BJ clinton knows that.
Pray for W, McCuda and Our Troops
Just letting the Bush tax cuts expire will be a major revenue tax increase, so this crap about tax cuts for 95% of working Americans is pure bullshit from a Marxist squirrel.
Thanks...newbie to Facebook...
The middle name bit is pathetic. Three Presidents went by their middle name—Grover Cleveland, Woodrow Wilson, and Calvin Coolidge—and the Republic somehow survived.
“He once lived in Alaska and once also lived in Arizona”
This is starting to resemble the Kennedy Conspiracy.
“Mr. Smith reported phoned in a tip to the authorities in January, 1964, claiming that he saw a young Oswald on the Belgian/French border in late spring of 1956. Oswald may or may not have asked where he could buy a “decent shirt.” How does the Warren Commission explain this anomaly? From them we hear 21 pages of reasonable doubt as to the character of the tipster. Aside from that, a chilling silence!”
RICO! (and I don’t mean good and sweet!) The FBI will find enough to start a RICO investigation into the ACORN and Obama connection. Look at this and tell me that there isn’t a lot of overlap and an interlocking directorate!
ACORN, as a private organization, is not required to publicize its activities, donors, expenditures, members, or myriad of front organizations. ACORN is a membership organization with an estimated 175,000 member families in the United States and up to 500,000 member families worldwide paying at least $120 per year. With a budget of $100 million or more, ACORN employs about a thousand people. Money flows in to ACORN coffers from the federal government, including the present Bush Administration, and from such foundations as Heinz, Annie E. Casey, Open Society Institute, Ben and Jerrys, as well as from the Woods Foundation and the Joyce Foundation, on whose boards Obama sat in Chicago.
Among the ACORN subsidiaries and satellites are the ACORN Institute, Project Vote, Service Employees International UnionLocal 100, WalMart Alliance for Reform Now, ACORN Housing Corporation (AHC), Living Wage Resource Center, ACORN Law on the Web, KABF Radio, KRON Radio, Site Fighters, the quarterly journal Social Policy, Financial Justice Center, New Yorks Working Families Party, Precinct Action League (PAL), Citizens Services Inc., Katrina Survivors Association, Citizens Counseling, Inc., and Clergy and Laity United for Economic Justice.
