Joe "the slave" Plumber
Robin's mind | 10-17-2008 | Robin Whitaker

A slave is defined as somebody who is forced to work for somebody else for no payment and is regarded as the property of that person. Joe the Plumber was recently informed by Obama that he does not belong to himself. He is expected to work to make as much money as he can so that it can be taken from him to give to people who do not work hard and “need” the money more than he does.

Joe didn’t look too happy about being informed that the fruits of his labor do not belong to him, that they belong to anyone who “needs” them. I don’t blame him. Not too many people are happy when they are forced into slavery.

What a tragic irony that Obama is the one resurrecting slavery in America. This time around, however, slavery will not be determined by race. This time around, no one is traveling to another country to purchase people outright. This time, the potential slaves are already here. To avoid the negative connotation of the word slavery, Obama is using words like “spreading” the wealth. Regardless of the terminology, Joe the Plumber is somebody who is forced to work for somebody else for no payment and is regarded as the property of that person.

Well, he is not quite a slave. Nobody is forcing him to work. In fact, in Obama’s world, he would probably be better off if he didn’t work. But what if all Joe the Plumbers decide not to work? Where will Obama get the wealth that he wishes to spread? Hmmm. . . .

Who is John Galt?

If Joe the plumber decided that he wasn't going to work, he would have to separate from his wife and kids, in order for them to collect welfare, AFDC, Food Stamps and WIC. He would be compelled to reimburse the state of Ohio for the value of that welfare as well as the value of the back child support from the date of the separation. Since joe would have the money since he's not working Ohio would name him as a deadbeat dad and throw his sorry butt in jail. He would be deneid visitation with his children.

That's today...imagine what it could be under Obama/Odinga.
