Want to Wipe Out All Of ACORN's Fraud? Time For The Purple Finger Act of 2008
The Patriot Room ^ | October 14, 2008 | Bill Dupray

Posted on 10/14/2008 4:24:22 PM PDT by Bill Dupray

The justified hue and cry over ACORN's trying to steal this election can really be solved with a quick and clean piece of legislation that could be passed tomorrow. Require all voters on election day to dip their finger in the purple dye that the Iraqis have used since their fledgling democracy started a couple of years ago. From The Campaign Spot.

Picking up from a thought by Mark Steyn, why do Iraq and Afghanistan have better protections against voter fraud and multiple voting than the United States? Why does the simple, visible, tough-to-evade purple finger ink get put into effect in new democracies in those countries, but we can't get something so simple and effective on the books here in this democracy?

What would it take to get "purple finger" rules here in the United States?

First, who would oppose such legislation?

More . . .

When I saw the Iraqis doing that, I said exactly the same thing.
however, i'm sure that the demo-craps would say that somehow we would be violating their rights.

You are funny. The purple finger is not going to matter. When the Messiah is anointed to the throne, we will all be have devices implanted in our brains to control our conservative thoughts.

All Hail the Messiah.

That keeps legal voters from voting multiple times in multiple locations.

It needs to be coupled with photo ID to prevent illegals / felons / teens / etc from voting. I can’t believe this isn’t a given...you have to prove who you are to every other gov’t agency and anything involving money, so why wouldn’t voting be considered equally as important?

Then eliminate early / absentee voting except for those stationed overseas.

It won't stop absentee ballot fraud against those fraudulent registrations.

Doesn’t count for military and mail in. Mail in is where the fraud comes in.

When dead people vote, will it make a difference?

All they need do is pose ineligible people as elegible voters, and there are enough fingers to go around.

It might help some, but it will not stop the fraud.

Sounds like a great plan to me. I’ve thought this would work for at least a year or so since seeing the Iraqi’s do it. And with all the lawsuits and investigations in almost 1/3 of our states now, we gotta do something and do it fast and this seems pretty easy, KISS, keep it simple stupid plan. The would fix those ACORNS little with a purple finger monkey wrench.

deception is the lib's policy. elmer's glue applied to a digit, and allowed to dry, is virtually unnoticeable. the layer of dried glue can easily be removed after the ink is applied, allowing for -another vote (or two, or ten).

the answer, for the moment, is photo i.d.

in the future, it may be d.n.a. processing.

Why not do it? We know for a fact it will stop some fraudulent voting. It is not a cure-all, but it is a sure bet to cure some. We should call Congress and let them know we want this in place before the election. Notify the McCain campaign and tell them how he can look like a hero to his base and wipe out ACORN's rampant fraud all in one fell swoop by announcing his proposal of the Purple Finger Act of 2008.

Electronic voting machines with finger print ID...the only way to keep the scum ‘Rats from stuffing the ballot box. It’s not the votes that come in the doors when the polling place is open...it’s the ones that get stuffed in the box when the doors are closed.

Mickey Mouse won’t be voting.

The voter fraud is executed by the poll worker who will vote the registration.

“It won’t stop absentee ballot fraud against those fraudulent registrations.”

I’ve been thinking a lot about this recently given all the rampant fraud.

For a vast majority of the population.

1> Purple finger idea....EXCELLENT :-)!

2> Voter Photo ID REQUIRED. Make this about as simple as getting a passport.

3> MUST present voter ID prior to voting @ all times....not just the first time.

4> Create a universal voting machine for the entire country. Electronic touch screen. Has quadruple redundancy encrypted storage on industrial compactflash cards (i.e. cheap, easy to interface, and rugged). I can think of many ways to do this in a cost effective, secure manner. NO CONNECTIONS TO ANY NETWORKS!!!! Prints out a ballot readable, clearly, by humans (i.e. no optical scanning). The voting machine must be designed and reviewed by a bipartisan panel of engineers, etc.

5> Create a procedure where person enters votes, carries printed ballot to the box, dips thumb in ink, and leaves.

The military does a good job getting out the vote.

My only concern is for the elderly or those that must vote by absentee ballot. In this case, I think the rules should be :

1> Ballot must be dropped off at a local election HQ (this could be a police dept., etc.) and voter ID MUST be presented. These ballots are kept locked until election day.

2> In the cases of elderly or handicapped, those voters can request that personnel come to their home to pick up a sealed ballot. These personnel can be local law enforcement, etc.

With all of the ACORN nonsense, some kind of system HAS to be implemented....there will always be some fraud out there, but there is no call for this hijacking we are witnessing. I know my list is far from perfect, but it’d be somewhat of a start :-)!

It might work except we are not all voting on the same day anymore. How long does the ink last?

Hey, we have electronic voting, what’s a purple finger going to do? You’ll have ACORN out there dipping everyone’s finger in the dye and “adjusting” the vote from some hackers lair in Chicago! No one has to actually go in an vote twice now, we have streamlined the rigging of elections.

Then we should go back to voting on the same day. Even absentees should be posted on election day.

"Electronic voting machines with finger print ID"

i think we're headed toward retinal scans. the only problem i have with this is that it would, invevitably, lead to hackers/crackers influencing elections. as much as i love technological advances, they may lead to our doom.
