I have all of my late mother's things. She was adopted by the Cherokee and ended up spending a good part of her life in Arizona as they had moved there from Louisiana in the 1920s.

Um, the Cherokee moved from the Eastern and Southeastern US to Indian Territory (Oklahoma) in the 1830s. There are still some the Eastern US.

Yes, we settled in Tahlequah, Oklahoma...the Capital of the Cherokees.
