Scripture is contrary to what you are saying.

Romans 13:1 “Everyone must submit to the governing authorities, for there is no authority except from God, and those that exist are instituted by God.”-HCSB™.

Further, under Nero, Paul wrote:

1 Timothy 2:1-4 I urge, then, first of all, that requests, prayers, intercession and thanksgiving be made for everyone— for kings and all those in authority, that we may live peaceful and quiet lives in all godliness and holiness. This is good, and pleases God our Savior, who wants all men to be saved and to come to a knowledge of the truth.

So, it is clear
1) God is in control of who is instituted as a leader in any arena and can shape and influence wills according to His plan

2)We should pray for leaders and those who are in authority that we may live peaceful lives

Since we must pray, we might as well pray for repentance for our nation and mercy in terms of the election. God is gracious. Perhaps He will be gracious to us again.

Matthew 21:22 Jesus said, “You can pray for anything, and if you have faith, you will receive it.”

"I am a Christian , but I believe God has left us to our own devices . He is NOT going to save us from Obama . We are going to get what the majority want ."

You do not know what God will do. None of us know.

It's true we all have some culpability in our current situation. God might or might not deliver us from this current situation. He is sovereign. He decides. Neither you nor I. But He certainly can. He is able to deliver us. And I have prayed and will continue to pray for forgiveness, grace and mercy for myself, my family, my nation.

Dan 3:17-18
"If it be so, our God whom we serve is able to deliver us from the burning fiery furnace, and he will deliver us out of thine hand, O king. But if not, be it known unto thee, O king, that we will not serve thy gods, nor worship the golden image which thou hast set up."

We don't deserve to be delivered. But we never deserved salvation either. It is a free gift. We are completely dependent upon His grace.

Not necessarily so - scripture is full of examples of where when God’s people followed II Chron. 7:14, events of a judgment nature were halted, delayed or postponed. We may deserve Obama, but in this election, I truly believe prayer is more important than voting. God alone can bring into the light that which changes minds, or bring events - such as the ‘perfect storm’ that has brought our financial collapse and Obama’s new poll strength. All that can be reversed in a day by sovereign, divine intervention. We need to pray for mercy - and a sovereign move from Above. Else we are a Marxist state in 3 - 4 years - and possibly totally disolved as a nation soon thereafter. The stakes are simply - everything on earth. Eternal salvation alone being through the finished work of the Lord Jesus Christ.

From the 2nd chapter of the book of Daniel, after God had given him the interpretation to Nebuchadnezzar’s dream:

17 Then Daniel returned to his house and explained the matter to his friends Hananiah, Mishael and Azariah.

18 He urged them to plead for mercy from the God of heaven concerning this mystery, so that he and his friends might not be executed with the rest of the wise men of Babylon.

19 During the night the mystery was revealed to Daniel in a vision. Then Daniel praised the God of heaven

20 and said:
“Praise be to the name of God for ever and ever;
wisdom and power are his.

21 He changes times and seasons;
he sets up kings and deposes them.
He gives wisdom to the wise
and knowledge to the discerning.

22 He reveals deep and hidden things;
he knows what lies in darkness,
and light dwells with him.

23 I thank and praise you, O God of my fathers:
You have given me wisdom and power,
you have made known to me what we asked of you,
you have made known to us the dream of the king.”

“He sets up kings and deposes them”.

I will continue to pray for His hand on this nation and on this election. I will not simply sit back and take whatever happens without a fight.
