On This Day Of Atonement (V)
Self

Posted on 10/08/2008 10:26:47 PM PDT by Canedawg

Seven years after the World Trade Center attack, as Jews around the world atone and fast, seeking forgiveness and a renewal of spirit, I sit at my computer with an uneasy feeling about the future of America and Israel, as well as my own personal financial situation. It surely is not the best of times.

I am not a religious Jewish person, and have attended temple only sporadically since I was Bar Mitzvah'd many years ago. But I do pray, and I often join in with the prayers of my Christian FRiends here. I joined your prayers for the Lord to give Sarah and John strength as they entered into their debates. These days, I find myself praying harder and more often for America's survival and prosperity. And I continue to pray for Israel, too.

Israel always seems to have its existence threatened. I can recall it as far back as 1967, when my family huddled around Uncle Ben's black and white console TV, breathlessly awaiting updates of The Six Day War.

That threat of violent and destructive forces to Israel's existence, hit the USA on September 11, 2001. The sudden realization that my country had come under attack was a shock to the system. I suppose I was more prepared to hear of an attack on Israel than one on New York City. I first viewed Ground Zero on the Saturday after the attacks, and it was devastating. I hope to never witness anything like that again. And thank God we have been kept safe since that awful day.

Our way of life has undergone changes since then, and it always will. Some changes are better than others.

Last night during the presidential debate, it became crystal clear (as if any further proof were needed) that the Democratic candidate for POTUS is not, will not, and never will be in Israel's corner, or on Her side. At least it should have become clear as a bell to anyone with a properly functioning brain who was listening.

'That One' has won the anti-semitic vote, predictably enough. But as I sit here thinking about atonement, I wonder if any Jews who intend to vote for the Heinous one will be asking for forgivenss for their betrayal of Israel, their denial of their roots, and their ignorance about the internal threat to the future of America.

For there is no rational reason for a Jew to cast a vote for someone who WILL reveal himself to be the mortal enemy of Israel, and of the United States of America. A vote for "that" candidate is a vote for Lucifer, for government over the people, for the U.N. to govern the U.S.

They must be self-loathing Jews, or JINOs, or whatever psycho-socio theory de jour that exists to explain away their indecent and amoral behavior. There is no rational argument that can support their decision to vote for an enemy of Israel and of America. Are they that ignorant, or just too intellectually lazy to understand? Perhaps deep down there is not patriotism, but only disdain for the United States of America.

Boy have they got it wrong. But I am past the point of associating with people who support re-education camps, who indoctrinate children to sing and march to the beat of the false messiah, who are deaf to all the lies, blind to the nefariousness of The New Left that has infiltrated and now dominates the DNC. The American Jews who will not vote for Sarah Palin and John McCain are despicable, and they are pathetic excuses for Jews and American citizens.

And I hate them for that.

On those occasions when I have attended synagogue on Yom Kippur, I would read through the prayer books during the service. I noticed that in addition to seeking forgiveness from God for transgressions committed against His Commandments, we are also directed to atone for sins committed against persons, and to seek forgveness from those against whom we have sinned.

I am sorry that I hate you for your voting against the interests of Israel and America. I am sorry that I despise you when you unscrupulously attack Sarah Palin and her children. I am sorry that i sneer at you and lose respect for you when you parrot the lies that the dishonest mainstream media has fed you. Please forgive me.

And I will try to forgive you- forgive you for your ignorance, and your support of a heinously anti-semitic candidate who will do great harm to our country and to the interests of Israel.

I will forgive you, for you know not what you do.

L'Shanah Tovah

A better prayer I’ve never heard.

for me it’s no longer “G-d Bless America” it’s “G-d HELP America!!”
