I like Liz Trotta on Fox News. I think she generally has some fairly objective and insightful things to say about the media, so I usually delay heading off to Mass until she wraps her just-before-9 a.m. segment.
Liz definitely is not in the tank for Sarah Palin, and I was disturbed by her final observations about her view of Palin's perceived lack of depth by reporting that "some people" found it distasteful that Palin was bringing "that handicapped child and dragging it around the stage."
It???
Distasteful????
Sad, really, and you have to think that if it was a Democrat, we would be hearing paeans to how this move was designed to bring all of our citizens into the mainstream.
There is something about the babies of Republican women politicians.
You know what this is about. Guilt ,
pure , simple.
“There is something about the babies of Republican women politicians.”
Well, yeah.
They’re *alive*.
I saw that too and had the same reaction you did. “It,” indeed! That shows what is wrong with this country.
Gaah!
I call him Triggy-wiggy when I see him on TV and he is cute as a button - he will grow up to be a sweet person with more love in his heart than any of these creeps could ever fathom.
Don’t you know that children should not be seen or heard. They are to be shipped off to government education facilities with visitation on secular holidays.
As for the baby being handicapped. Less than perfect people should be euthanized for being a drain on society.
I’d add a /s but this is how most liberals feel.
Saw it. The Fox anchor (name is on the tip of my tongue ;-(
was visibly shocked. He said you mean her baby, Trig.
I was floored she said “it” too.
That horrible comment reveals the wizened, brittle soul this woman has...a far worse deformity than Sarah’s sweet little boy has.
Jesus warns, “If anyone offend one of these little ones who believes in Me, it would be better for him if a millstone were hanged around his neck and he be drowned in the depths of the sea.” (Luke 27:2)
Eric Shawn. Yes, I think he was taken aback from her vile comment.
emailed fox. said i hated that remark. who was the little squirrel guy that was interviewing. Greg Palkot??? he gives me the creeps. hate. hate. hate his whiny voice.
If she had left Trig home while the rest of the family is out there with her...they would have said she is ashamed of him and hiding him. So, who cares what this old windbag says about Sarah or her family?
I happen to love how after everything is over...she reaches for little Trig and holds him while continuing to walk around and speak to people. She’s a mother working and raising her family and the fem/libs/lefties/dems just can’t stand it that there really IS a way for women to have it all. The only thing is the woman in this case is a conservative republican with a loving family, a special needs child whom she chose to give life, a supportive mother, a mayor, governor and now a candidate for VP of the United States.
She’s the epitome of combining motherhood and work. Go Sarah...keep punching because you are their focus...NOT John McCain. THAT means they are AFRAID and they should be. They don’t know what to do next. Keep gooing out there and saying what is right and wrong and being your own self. Don’t change your ways, mannerisms or anything. Those are the very things that energized the base and endeared you to everyone and...the very thing that has Obama and biden and the dem/lib/feminists all tearing their hair out.
By the way...I don’t see the clintins out there busting their butts for Obama. I think they want McCain/Palin to win.
Actually, the term “that handicapped child” is objectionable by itself. Why not the term “her small baby”?
At the risk of transgressing the decorum usually reserved for this forum, What a douche bag!
I can't handle the attacks on the innocent.
OK, since I didn't see the segment, I'm a bit confused -- Was Liz's comment meant to describe the Palin detractors' use of the word "it" regarding the baby or was that her term?
Eric Shawn, and he does excellent reporting, wrote a book last year on the corrupt UN scandals, as if anyone cared.
Years ago a 17 year old friend of my daughter was with child. Her parents were putting lots of pressure on her to abort “it”.
I listened to her talk about the problem and how she didn’t know what to do about “it”, meaning of course the baby.
She asked me what should she do and my reply was quite simple, I said “well the first thing to do is to stop calling it an it and call it what it really is, a baby” , and then tell me her story again but use the word baby in place of “it”.
She did and started crying realizing they wanted her to kill her baby.
Well she has a beautiful 12 year old daughter.
Those folks are tougher on Obama than we are. I really believe thy hope for a future for Hillary, but they believe Obama to be the anti Christ.
I wonder what the response would be if she had referred to Obama’s kids as those black things?
