60 Minutes Scrubs Obama Transcript

Exclusive

During the 60 Minutes interview with Obama Sunday night came this question:

KROFT: But what is there specifically about you? You mentioned disposition. You mentioned disposition. What skills and traits do you have that would make you a good president?

Below is the transcript of Obama's ridiculous answer, which you can view to the right.

OBAMA: Look, I'm a practical person.  One of the things I'm good at is getting a bunch of people in a room with a bunch of different ideas.  Who sometimes violently disagree with each other. And finding common ground.  And a sense of common direction, and that's the kind of approach I think that prevents you from making some of the enormous mistakes that we've seen over the last eight years.

Now look at how 60 Minutes rendered it on their web site.

OBAMA: Yeah. You know I am very good at analyzing complicated problems. Hearing all voices. Getting all perspectives. And then taking some decisive action in terms of moving us in a direction that's gonna solve the problem. And you know, that was true when I worked across the aisle on issues like ethics reform, or nuclear proliferation. It's been true when I was in the state legislation, when I provided tax cuts to people who needed them. But also made sure that, as we were moving women from welfare to work
g
blah-blah-blah.

Quite a difference, eh wot?  It's obvious that somebody at CBS also recognized what an idiot Obama looked like, and tried to repair the record - which is what's happened to Obama's record since he was a baby.

I wanted the transcript to punctuate this account of how Obama caused yesterday's White House negotiating conference to go up in flames.  You haven't heard this version on CBS either.  Nor will you.  From Rush Limbaugh, earlier today.

What Really Happened at the White House Yesterday

"Isn't that like --- fraud?"

MSM prefers the term "fake but accurate".

There are two different transcriptions on two different pages. The first is dated 9/21, the second revised and extended transcript, 9/24:

Ouch. They gave Osama a mulligan for his answer?

Thanks. Maybe he really did make the second response and it got edited out of the show tape.

Highly unlikely because the first response isn't anywhere in the text of the second response. Each would have had to be edited out of the other. I don't think that's what happened. Maybe they did several takes after it was apparent that his original response (the one of the 21st) was so boneheaded. But even then, there's still the problem of two different transcripts with two different dates.

Well, the teleprompter must have malfunctioned on that question.

The first transcription is what he actually said, having to rely only on himself to answer.

The second transcription is what he was SCRIPTED to say in response to that question.

Obama is an ideologue, plain and simple. He is the most liberal Senator around. He is much more likely to view public policy through some puerile notion of doctrinal purity than McCain and Palin. McCain and Palin are the true problem solvers. I can’t imagine Obama coming out for any public policy position before its passing muster with special interests like, say, teacher’s unions or the trial lawyers association. He’s not about nonpartisanship, period!

This is the most likely scenario. The liberals all go on the basis of what was intended rather than on the reality, unless, of course, the reality happens to get them closer to whatever happens to be their goal.
