CBS News & Katie Couric, in a never ending attempt to belittle Republican Vice Presidential candidate Governor Sarah Palin, ordered its staff to diminish Sarahs importance.

Wow, what a bunch of petty crap that goes on behind the scenes.
That’s an astute observation — that Gov. Palin is never referred to as “Governor”.
While I think Gov Palin could be better prepared for this run, she should get the respect she has duly earned.
Re: Biden... I’m popping the corn for the VP debates now... man that’ll be hilarious!
I agree. What’s interesting is that so many of the Sheeple are finally, FINALLY waking up to the blatant bias of the MSM. Any and all pretense is now gone........completely.
Couric is a self-centered bitch.
Katie who?
Hate to say “I told ya so”, but I was one of the first to say that the sit-down with Couric was a VERY bad idea.
These people (the Dinosaur MSM) are out to DESTROY Palin. Giving them the chance to do so is a foolhardy strategy, IMHO.
Do what Regan did - take the message directly to the people. There’s definitely a HUGE interest in Palin (eg: 60,000 people at the Florida rally the other day).
We can get the message out WITHOUT the MSM.
Oh, and I’d absolutely deny them ANY access (for the next 16 years) WHEN we win. Maybe that will make the point once and for all..
I agree. Let Sarah be Sarah.
She is one politician who NATURALLY connects with voters.
No pretense.
This, coming from a "news" organization whose importance was diminished long ago by its vacuous, "air-headed" anchor.
I’m a great admirer of Gov. Palin-BUT-Couric backed her into a corner with no great effort, because she had made some truly fatuous statements prior to the interview: the worst of which was the claim that having Russia and Canada as neighbors constituted or embodied foreign policy experience.
The more correct answer might have been: “I’ve had about as much FP experience as Teddy Roosevelt and Al Gore had.”
Unfortunately, you can’t put something like that back in the bottle afterwards, and it is like throwing raw meat to any carniverous reporter.
Hopefully, the Governor will have learned from this encounter !
Katie Couric is a classless clown.
Couric on far left.. a bit queer if you ask me.
I have noticed this in some news reports. It is the same as some "journalists" after 2000 referred to President Bush as Mr. Bush. It was not rampant, but when I heard it, the difference stuck out distinctly. Keith Olberman was the first that I heard use the "Mr. Bush" reference when he filled in for Paul Harvey.
Unleash Palin! Let her talk by herself. Take the chance with Palin. Not just left media is bothering me now, McCain is starting to bother me when it comes to pamper Palin. McCain, you are running out of time and ammo. Let her play by her rule.
Actually, both are true statements. Alaska includes one of the Diomedes islands out in the Aleutian chain. There is Big Diomedes and Little Diomedes and they are separated by about 2 miles of North Pacific or Arctic ocean. In addition, Canada is a neighbor of Alaska, so there is nothing fatuous or embellished in her claim.
It is noteworthy that when Bush 43 ran for president, his FP experience came solely from dealing with Mexican president Vicente Fox. In my book, then, Gov. Palin has twice the FP experience that President GW Bush had when he was elected.
