Barack Obama has descended further into audacity yesterday when he called Sarah Palin a pig.
Amy Chozick of the Washington Post reports:
Whats the difference between a more hopeful kind of politics and old-fashioned attacks? Lipstick.Barack Obama says the John McCain-Sarah Palin policies dont represent change, theyre just calling the same thing something different.
You can put lipstick on a pig, but its still a pig, Obama said during a town-hall style event here Tuesday night.
The comment played on Republican vice presidential candidate Palins joke during the Republican National Convention that the only difference between a pit bull and a hockey mom was lipstick..
UPDATE: The McCain campaign quickly struck back convening a conference call with reporters and former Mass. Gov. Jane Swift to paint the common expression as a sexist jab at Palin. As far as I know there is only one candidate in this contest who wears lipstick, Swift said.

In context he was not talking about Sarah Palin, that is an old saying too, we are making something out of nothing here. Again, this was not a slur against Sarah.
OKAY FOLKS, GROW UP, GET THE PARAGRAPH HE SAID BEFORE WHAT YOU HAVE POSTED AND YOU WILL SEE HE WAS NOT TALKING ABOUT SARAH AT ALL, SHEEZE ....
He should have known any comment about lipstick would have been seen as a counter to Sarah’s joke last week. But Obama is having trouble putting together a post convention campaign because the teleprompters are off and the Republicans are winning. He is in meltdown across the board.
If that is the case why did Biden refer to Lipstick on the same day different location?
People complaining about this sound like whiny liberals. Geez, McCain used the same phrase at least twice talking about Hillary’s healthcare plan.
Presidents need to be aware of how their statements will be taken by others, or wars can be started over nothing. He should consider his words or not be considered for President.
An "unfortunate" choice of words, whatever Obama's intent was.
You can place a dipstick at a podium but it's still a dipstick.
You may see this as taken ‘out of context’. However, we need to see it in the broader context of time. Only last week Sarah told the joke that associated herself with someone with lipstick. Everybody knew about this association, and Obama choose to say this. The saying has been around for ages, but the context is new. That’s the reason this ad might potentially be powerful.
“You can put lipstick on a pig. It’s still a pig. You can wrap up an old fish in a piece of paper and call it change. It’s still going to stink after eight years. We’ve had enough,” he exclaimed to a standing ovation.”
That’s the exact quote - Do you still think nothing was intended by it?
this was not a slur against Sarah.
I watched this video and definetly was a slur. There is only ONE candidate that wears lipstick and a woman. The way the crowd jumped up and his smirk said it all. He will pay at the poll....big time. We now know what Hil went through and no wonder she won’t help him......he crossed the line!
McCain's handlers have taken a page out of the Clinton play book. Attack, attack, attack.
He knew EXACTLY what it would stir. You know the bully on the playground who can’t get any attention. Even bad attention is attention!!!
What a lousy excuse for a man and a Presidential candidate?? Disgusting....
Public perception. Public perception. We’re talking about a Presidential Candidate. This comment was another major mistake regardless of whether it was meant of Sarah Palin or not, the public will indeed see it as a comment about Sarah Palin. Another very Non Presidential blunder.
OKAY FOLKS, GROW UP, GET THE PARAGRAPH HE SAID BEFORE WHAT YOU HAVE POSTED AND YOU WILL SEE HE WAS NOT TALKING ABOUT SARAH AT ALL, SHEEZE ....
WE all saw, read, viewed and heard enough. Are you a man? If you are you probably won’t understand this blatant slur...but as a woman and voter. He will pay. He was bullying to get attention and draw the press to him..he got it alright and now it’s time he gets more attention. We now know what Hillary must have endured.
It’s more than losing a day of campaigning. It’s keeping his nasty remarks about Sarah in front of the public. The more he tries to cover his tracks, the more publicity he gives to it.
Well, you decide. Would you rather have a pit bull on your side or a wussie like Obambi.
