In an interview today with ABC News' George Stephanopholous, Barack Obama was trying to hammer those who have passed the rumor that he is a "Muslim" when he uttered the phrase, "My Muslim faith." George immediately stepped in to help him out by saying "Christian faith." . . . . (see video at link)

I think this explains a lot of his stuttering around. He doesn’t think about what he wants to say, he always thinks about what he doesn’t want to say.
I believe that was “potato(e)” (latter was perfectly correct).

Amen and Amen! My opinion is that I don’t believe for a minute that Obadma made a “misstatement”.
I think the tide is changing and the worm is squirming!!

Could it be he said it on purpose - hoping to have a lot of attention over it in order to say he’s being attacked (which would gain him sympathy).

Gee, even 20 years of Reverend Wright’s rants couldn’t turn him into a “Christian”.
Unfortunately, this is a non story.
When I first saw this mentioned on FR, I was excited to see the interview. I was very much hoping for such a slip and hoping it was something that could hurt the Obama campaign and could be put on You Tube.
I then watched the interview, and in the context of the discussion where Obama was asked about the Republicans trying to put out he was a Moslem, there were numerous interchanges of the words Christian and Muslim. When Obama misspoke about the word Muslim, it was easy to do so in the context of the conversation. I was disappointed as I hpoed there was a non issue.
Perhaps the picture that his half brother had (posted earlier today on FR) might be more effective but as I said before, this is not a story - we should drop it as there is much substance to pursue.
What would have happened if Stephanopholous had not immediately corrected him?
This is getting good. Now the MSM covers for him too.
Who says it was a misstatement? A lot of Arabs think he IS a Muslim.

I would love to test Obama’s reaction to a puppy. Muslims have a strong adversion to dogs. Like pigs, dog are considered unclean. Muslims believe that contact with pups or pigs defile them. I wonder what Obama would do if he he was asked to pet or shake the paw of a little dog?
Doubt if that would work - he’s been prepping for this position. Allergic would be his answer.
