From a reader:
The FReepers are comparing her to Reagan. I didnt put too much credibility into it, I mean, you can expect that kind of reaction from the FReepers. But then the people on my dog training forum are comparing her to Reagan. And the people on my cooking forum are comparing her to Reagan.
I am not comparing her to Reagan, yet. There was A LOT more to Reagan than one speech!
But you need to know some people are. And that is quite an accomplishment.

If we had known she would be THIS good, we should have drafted her for President back in the winter. But its too late to do anything about it now!

If the liberal media can compare Zerobama to the Messiah, I think it’s okay for us to compare Governor Palin to President Reagan.

Conservatism has a new leader, and the Lib McCain had the guts to bring her on.
Well, I guess Comrade Juan McNuts can’t be wrong all the time!

the left knows that the country is right of center and if they debate the issues, they’d lose. So they try to get around it by demonizing Republicans. It won’t work anymore.

Ain't she GREAT!! That said, I have mixed emotions about her ascendancy to national office.
I think she will acquit herself well, but we are going to miss her in Alaska. She was just starting to make a difference in Juneau. She managed to clean up one party, her own, but the DIMS need the same treatment.
All I can say is Washington will never be the same, nor will Alaska.
Godspeed Sarah Palin. We will miss you.

Somehow, I don't think Sarah will be leaving Alaska while she spends some time in Washington. And I do think that I saw the possibility of the next President ascending after McCain.
I guess it would be fun to wonder if a float plane can make the trip in a timely fashion to DC. We do have to thank you folks up there for Sarah Barracuda. She's really something. God Bless America. God Bless Senator McCain and Governor Palin. We need them.

About 75% through the speech I said to my wife, “We could be looking at the next new conservative with the potential to be a Reaganesque leader.” It’s way early, but I REALLY liked what I saw, as did my wife.

Hey, this thing has gone global now, folks. This was the shot heard around the world. They picked it up in India and also Korea, Australia, the Brits, you name it. She is a worldwide star. Could they say that about Biden?I have been monitorning the news here in the world's second largest economy.
This is indicative. I post it in full first in Japanese as it appeared on Yahoo!Japan chat boards political section (apologies if some browsers dont display it properly):

I would say she is right smack between conservative Reagan and conservative/populist George Wallace, (without Wallace’s racist past), who were two geniuses at reaching the people, the common man, the little guy as they would like to say. Both of these men went on to pile up enormous popular vote and have quite an impact on the American political scene...and she will no doubt, too.

Woo Hoo! That's kinda like Sarah's comment about “Dingy” Harry Reid's dislike of McCain being one of the highest accolades and proof we've chosen the right man. It is a great reason to celebrate when the dim Dems know they are in trouble! Chris Wallace, of FOX, even told an Obamabot operative, “You're in trouble!” (I'm listening to Sarah's speech for the second time. That's right, FOX has aired the whole thing twice and they keep repeating the zingers she aimed at Obama’s pointed head!)

George Wallace was NOT a Conservative. A populist huckster and political opportunist of the highest order. He was an Alabama liberal Democrat aligned with the racial moderate Big Jim Folsom, but when he got painted as a “n***er-lover” which caused him to lose the Governorship in 1958, he turned into a rabid segregationist and rode that schtick for years. In his final term in office from 1983-87, he had inched back to trying to make amends for his race-baiting and won a substantial chunk of the Black vote... all simply because he was a Democrat.

Can't disagree with that...
Politically speaking I have been depressed since McCain surpassed the delegate count to secure the nomination. I was looking forward to writing off the next four years. I am optimistic once again, and I have Governor Palin to thank for that. Optimism and Conservatism go hand in hand.....Can't have one without the other.

I guess my Father raised 3 “small f” feminists. You don't sit and gripe about how the law discriminates against you, or how co-workers hit on you. You just get off your rear and walk through those “doors of opportunity” and you learn to handle, as gracefully as possible, the ill-bred dumbasses who TRY to sexually harass you.
