Sarah Palin—Battleground State Barracuda
The Royal Savage ^ | 9/1/2008 | Holden Des Montsverts

Posted on 09/01/2008 5:32:52 AM PDT by Yankee Sailor

Senator John McCain jumped out of the box with both feet on Friday with the selection of Governor Sarah Palin of Alaska as his Vice Presidential running mate. Predictably, most Conservatives are whooping it up over the Governor’s solid fiscal and social conservative bona fides, and most Liberals went on the attack before they really considered what happened, focusing on attributes they can demagogue. Beneath the bold strokes, however, John McCain has done something very subtle with his choice.

The first attack from the Left was against Gov. Palin's level of experience on the national security and foreign policy fronts. The Obama campaign issued a quick retraction of its dart after it realized it can little afford to dwell on the point, lest someone notices they're calling the McCain-Palin kettle black. The second attack was to accuse the McCain camp of tokenism and making a transparent bid to pander to women in general, and Hillary Clinton supporters in particular.

Gov. Palin is about to show the Rats how to walk the walk. Shrillary and Obama know how to run their mouths in the words of the esteemed Jesse Jackson.

Gov Palin, git it done!

And she will. I already adore that woman. :)

McCain needs a candidate that will sway the battleground states, and this I believe she will do well.

There's one obvious flaw in this thinking. Palin isn't running for President! When people go into the voting booth they won't see her name on tha ballot! It most likely will be a socialist GOP candidate who has voted with socialist Democrats numerous time over his 26 year political career! People can refuse to admit these facts but the fact remains McCain will still have the same mindset now as he did before he chose Palin.

Is it just me, or is anyone else more excited about her than him?

The Democrats have lost another election, but the beauty of it is they don’t know it yet. Watch them get desperate, start heaving Hail Mary passes, and by their own mistakes hand steady John and his strong mate a commanding lead by the first debate.

True, John McCain is not a conservative on most issues. But he is a far better candidate than the alternative. That does not make him a socialist by any definition. I believe you are a Democrat attempting to sow dissention. Good luck on that, Lefty. I believe the GOP is more united today than it has been at any time since the era of the Gipper.

I can see that I’m in esteemed company. I’m so glad that we’re getting to see some new faces (hers and Jindal come to mind)to lead the movement. Glad to see that we’re no longer eating our “young”.
I sent in a donation to McCain on Friday, I was so impressed by her.

You contradict yourself. You admit he's not a conservative a majority of the time and yet he's not a socialist?

I believe you are a Democrat attempting to sow dissention.

Yes I keep hearing that lame and wild assumption every time I point McCain, like Obama, are both socialists who will destroy this country.

I believe the GOP is more united today than it has been at any time since the era of the Gipper.

On that point I don't necessarily disagree with you considering the GOP has incrementally accepted more socialism to expand its voter base. In doing so it has gradually aligned itself with the socialist Democrats. They are essentially one party.

Not really sure. I’ve been very happy with the Palin-McCain ticket. :)

Yes, more excited about her, but feel a bit better about him for having selected her as his running mate.

Every time I go to their site, I get sucked in to watching all the vids I missed and wind up LOL.

I love their description of the Denver Greek Temple set.

Dunlap: Looks like something from Clash of the Titans.

They are masters of the sotto voce, throw-away, aside.

Perhaps the best since the Monty Python troupe.
