Vegetarian is an old Indian term for CAN'T HUNT. :-)

I'll have to link to this.

Every time the dummies at forums.rpg.net come up with some *stoopid* argument to try, I can respond with

"Sorry, that dog won't hunt. But Sarah Palin will!"

Hmmmm, then again, maybe not. Those idiots who barely a basic grasp on the English language will infer that I'm calling Palin a dog.

I knew I was going to get grief for this. If it’s food, it’s food. You do what you have to do. My point was gunning down a caribou is not an accomplishment (unlike killing snipers in the Sunni Triangle), and then heralding its bloodied, dying body as a trophy is in bad taste. I know a lot of you will disagree, and feel free to do so. But it’s just my personal opinion. I have nothing more to say on this thread.

Are you a true vegetarian? At least wild animals have a chance! The sheep, pigs, cows, chickens etc. have NO chance in the commercial food business.

By the way, how do you feel about abortion? We know how she feels.

I think it should be the rule that you need to have at the least visited Alaska before commenting on our subsistence lifestyle. That comment is solely aimed at those that are ignorant of Alaska. Thanks to the OP for having the guts to challenge the leaf-eaters.

Of course if you live in the city of Anchorage you can buy your air shipped meat that may come from the US or you can go and bring it home fresh.

Last moose I shot where I live just north of Wasilla I was in my TV room in my underwear, I opened the window and fired one round from my stainless Ruger .338, kept my family is fresh clean very very lean meat for two years.

Life as gritty and tough as “Northern Exposure” and “Men in Trees”. Cicely and Elmo may be fictional places, but they are based on very real circumstances.

Too bad neither one is still on the air....

I can speak from experience that putting up 500 lbs of meat from the hoof to the freezer or smokehouse is difficult and demanding work. Even in our rural circles it's difficult finding people who want to help. I think the photo speaks volumes; if not for the accomplishment then for the character and philosophy of this woman."

I think she gets it from her parents:

Palin’s Parents Told To Listen To Radio
Posted by CBS News’ Ryan Corsaro:

Alaska Governor Sarah Palin’s parents were called early this morning at their home in Wasilla and told to “listen to the radio” by Palin’s husband, Tim.

Palin’s father, Chuck Heath, says he and his wife were caribou hunting when they were told to come home and tune into their local radio station to hear “exciting news,” but said he did not know if his daughter was the choice for John McCain’s vice president.

“The river was swollen, so we almost didn’t get back,” Palin’s mother, Sally Heath, told CBS News.

The two said they said the call was “a wonderful surprise.” “I am shocked!” said Mrs. Heath.
