“Big deal, if she is guilty of using her power against this scumbag who beat her sister, tased his stepson, was a drunk. MORE POWER TO HER!”
I’m a little clueless about this statement. Can anyone ‘splain it for me?
There was an incident not long after she became Governor concerning her sister. The sister was married to an Alaska State trooper who...shall we say...wasn’t exactly what you’d call an upstanding example of a lawman. Domestic violence and alcohol was involved. Anyway, the sister and the trooper were in the midst of a nasty divorce (custody rights were involved). The accusation is that Governpor Palin used her power to try to get the trooper fired from the State Patrol.
According to most people, she never TOLD anyone to “fire him”, but rather suggested to his commander that someone who behaved as he did (there were other incidents involving alcohol) wouldn’t be a good fit for the State Patrol.
Given the fact that the ex-trooper’s wife was the Governor’s sister, it could be seen as using her power to help a family member. However, given that the ex-trooper, by a majority of the accounts, was a class-A scumbag who probably shouldn’t have been an LEO in the first place, I think we can give Gov. Palin a pass on this.
If I have inadvertantly posted any inaccuracies about this incident, I humbly apologize.
Big deal, if she is guilty of using her power against this scumbag who beat her sister, tased his stepson, was a drunk. MORE POWER TO HER!
