Civic Center seems to be turning ugly. According to Metropolitan photographer Dawn Madura police started moving protesters in to the park. They had previously been in the streets. About 100 cops surrounded the park. Traffic had to be diverted.

The march that wound through city streets, stopping traffic and causing police to scramble to mediate between motorists and marchers was dubbed "Reclaiming the Streets". The mass was made up of 37 different liberal groups that entered the streets without a permit.

A young girl was seen being arrested for being in the street. She resisted arrest and was forced into custody.

About 500 protesters were there.

Crowds began to shout "Fuck the police."

A small group of protesters left the 16th Street Mall this afternoon and marched up and down the side streets. The police moved the march back to the mall.

A journalist friend of mine sent me this link to a blog / update site run by journalism and photography students at The Metropolitan State College of Denver. I asked if I could share it with you guys, and she said sure. They have a lot of writers and photographers covering this weeks DNC event in Denver. Interesting stuff...

A few feet behind is David Santos. He's 16 and from San Fransisco. He's a member of the Communist Party and believes a democracy will never work...When asked how a 16-year-old can know any better, Santos replied: "It's not about observing the present but looking at historical facts, no democracy has ever worked. You don't have to be 30 to see we actually live in a dictatorship."

Ah, the pure essence of a young mind full of mush. He doesn't like democracy and clearly he doesn't like dictatorship either. That does sort of narrow the options down. Like, the whole country could be run by workers' soviets, man. Uh huh.

History also showed that the "rhythm" method did work either for the two humping jackals that birthed you.

For equality, should the left not agree that the next 150 million killed should not be “leftists”?

further down the blog...

I wear contacts.

And I was just told if I see any police officers putting on his or her gas mask to immediately get my contacts off of my eyes.

Evidently the tear gas law enforcers use and contacts can not co-exist. Blindness could occur.

I hope they won't have to use teargas at all.

lol, no kidding. The guy had to be from SF, 'natch. I stopped explaining our system to lefty groupies years ago; they lacked finer cranial synaptic pathways to comprehend anything other than gross generalities.

The very fact that we have "rules" and "laws" constitutes "fascism" to skulls full of mush. This is why they think "socialism" will work. lol. It's the either "this" or "that" mode of thinking.

G-D love a duck...

From all I've been reading; it appears the protestors are hoping the police WILL have to use teargas. It's this weird wish some on the left have for their 15 minutes of fame..."Yeah man, I was there, I was gassed by the fascists..."

It's like a badge of honor to them, so they can speak to groups about being victims of "fascist" America.

Approximately 100 protesters have been detained today.

It is unknown if the protesters were marching or running from the police when they were surrounded by more cops between Court, 15th Street and Colfax Avenue.

Multiple source say cops used pepper spray on a small group of people near Bannock Street in Civic Center Park. This caused a larger group — upwards of 200 — to run and/or march down 15th Street.

The Denver Police Department acted very quickly.

“These guys are well trained,” a police spokeswoman said.

The protesters are being charged with interference, blocking a street and disobeying orders.
