In an interview on CNBC's "Squawk Box," billionaire Warren Buffett suggested that donors to the John Edwards for President Campaign might consider filing a class action lawsuit. "I think if I had given him money I'd probably be asking him for it back now" quipped the investor icon in a half serious, half joking manner. "I think if I were Edwards I might give up a haircut or two and return some of the money....if they (donors of the smaller amnounts) had known the facts they woudn't have sent him the money."
Buffett's main problem with Edwards was the fact that he continued to soliticit contributions long after he knew the story of the affair would eventually prevent any chance of him occupying the Oval Office. "Edwards was essentially soliticing money from people to further his ambitions to become President," said the billionaire. "He knew that in effect he wouldn't be elected president....he knew the story was out there. It might be kind of interesting if some contributor would bring a class action suit on behalf of people who were led to send money to a man under false pretenses."
Buffett and interviewer Becky Quick in fact chuckled at the irony of filing a class action suit against a trial lawyer. "I've seen a lot of class action suits with less to it," said Buffett. "I would think it might be a pretty good class action suit. He knew it and didn't tell them the truth. They sent it in while they were being misled by the person who was soliticing the money."
Buffett, who seemed to warm to the idea of the suit as he discussed it, did end the segment by stating that his musing was not the result of any rumors he had heard or inside information. "I don't think I've heard of that (among DNC staffers)...and I don't talk to a lot of class action lawyers. I think those people (donors) were defrauded."
Buffett, who is supporting Obama, was not asked if he was prepared to begin speaking to a lof of "class action lawyers" if Obama and more liberal Democrats were in fact elected this fall.
Translation:
“I really do appreciate the fact you’re sittin’ here
Your voice sounds so wonderful
But yer face don’t look too clear
Bar maid bring a pitcher, another round o’ brew
Why don’t we get drunk and screw”
Not that Buffett? Oh well.
Yet Obama's cozying up to revolutionary communists/"domestic terrorists" who waged war on America is OK? Re: Bill Ayers, Bernardine Dohrn/Weather Underground, Black Liberation Movement...
From David Horowitz's FrontPageMag.com/DiscoverTheNetworks.org:
"FBI files from 1976, recently made public under the Freedom of Information Act, confirm the connections between Weatherman, Havana, and Moscow. Weatherman leaders like Mark Rudd traveled illegally to Havana in 1968 to engage in terrorist training. There, camps set up by Soviet KGB Colonel Vadim Kotchergine were educating Westerners both in Marxist philosophy and urban warfare."

"Their founding document [the Weather Underground's] called for the establishment of a "white fighting force" to be allied with the "Black Liberation Movement" and other "anti-colonial" movements[1] to achieve "the destruction of US imperialism and the achievement of a classless world: world communism."..."-Berger, Dan (2006). For much more on the ObamaRats and the strong communist angle in all this, i.e. the one being largely ignored by both the left AND most of the right-wing media, particularly the more popular personalities like Sean Hannity, Rush Limbaugh, Laura Ingram, Bill O'Reilly, etc, please check out my FR Home page. Everything there is well documented and linked directly to its source. Thanks.
Ha ha ha ha that would be cosmic justice indeed!
I was thinking Jimmy, not Warren.
Must be too much time wasted on the beaches.
Sigh.
So does that mean Ron Paul has to give back all of that money he solicited? He knew that in reality he wouldn't be elected president.
See post #2.
Thank you, I appreciate you for doing this. Now if Freepers will simply check it out and pass it on to as many other sources possible.
Is Buffett a Hillary fan? One more shot across Ship Obama?
The same could be applied to heads of companies who "know" they're not qualified to run the company - shareholders can sue to get their money back...>
Where's Buffett on that idea?
Because we all know the stories of Bill Clinton's affairs kept him from winning the Presidency... twice...
If they can sue Edwards, then there are lots of also-rans that obviously never had a chance that will be sued. A lot of those candidates use the presidential race to bring what they feel are important issues to the forefront.
Buffet isn't stupid, so I'm guessing he doesn't like having political dollars "wasted" on all those lesser candidates and wants to drive most of the off.
How about him being a lying, fear mongering opportunist! Not to mention a first class jerk.
He just likes the sound of his own voice. Just plain STOOPID idea. Anyone that actually tries it is doubly stupid and this would be proof that they should have their money taken from them.
Edwards is scum, and if you gave money to him you deserve squat for your money. This isn’t Wal Mart, no money back guarantee.
You're welcome. And thank you for realizing the importance of the material I've gathered there, plus the need to get it out to as many people as possible. Because not even the popular rightwing media seem to want to bring out the strong communist angle in all this. Sean Hannity, for example, merely refers to the Weather Underground as "domestic terrorists", without ever linking them to the larger international communist movement and their KGB training while in Cuba. He does the same thing with Rev Wright and Black Liberation Theology, which is also revolutionary communist in its ideology. In fact, the Weather Underground were actually a major part of the Black Liberation Movement.

Bill Ayers TODAY (April 6, 2008), from his own red communist star-headed website, begging to debate communism vs capitalism with Sean Hannity and STILL calling for revolution!
"Imperialism. Im against it, and if Sean Hannity and others were honest, this is the ground they would fight me on. Capitalism played its role historically and is exhausted as a force for progress: built on exploitation, theft, conquest, war, and racism, capitalism and imperialism must be defeated and a world revolutiona revolution against war and racism and materialism, a revolution based on human solidarity and love, cooperation and the common good must win.
We begin by releasing our most hopeful dreams and our most radical imaginations: a better world is both possible and necessary.

Does Buffet understand business? Why does he support the party that blocks legal reform?
