4 years of Carter gave us 8 years of Reagan.
That in no way means that an Obama will give us anything even resembling Reagan. Having Carter as our President gave us radical Islamic control of Iran, who knows what damage Obama might do to this country in 4 years. At this time I do not believe that we can risk finding out. I will take 4 years of McCain and hope a stronger conservative will rise to take his place or that McCain will be more conservative once he gets into office. That to me is a more sound risk than risking an Obama Presidency.
