So, once again, it is not the underlying facts that cause concern, it is that Obama seems not to be forthcoming with those facts. He denies he was ever a Muslim, but apparently he was. Why doesn't he just say so? If he was adopted by his step-father and his name was Soetoro, why not just say so? If he was once an Indonesian citizen, or held dual citizenship, tell us.

It is Obama's failure to address these things that is the most troubling, because he leaves it to members of the public and the press to find out basic biographical information. Why should we have to do that? It leaves the impression that there is something to hide, perhaps some reason he might not meet the minimum requirements to become president, and that he might be trying to sneak into office before anyone figures it out. When a candidate can't be candid about such things, the lack of candor alone disqualifies him from holding the office he seeks.

People change names to suit the purpose. Some might say Marilyn Monroe is sexy, but Norma Jean Baker is common. Barry is not “exotic”. Barry is just another black man. Racist liberals wouldn’t walk down the street with Barry. Barack is “different”. God help this country.

o: coffee260 I hate to rain on your parade here, but this looks like a pretty poor-quality forgery to me. The ink used for the name 'Barry Soetoro' does not appear the same as the rest of the page, and the capital 'S' in Soetoro does not match a capital 'S' further down on the page.

And I don't have a dog in this hunt either way - I'm unconvinced by both sides. But this 'document' makes me wonder about the side claiming the COLB is a fake.

Wonder no more about the Obama COLB being a forgery. It is and that fact cannot and has not been refuted. But, you're onto something about the handwritten name of "Barry Soetoro."

All of the writing on the page is made by the same person, except "Barry Soetoro." It's not the ink that is curious, but the handwriting. Who made it, and why?
