Still gonna see it.
If you’re offending somebody, you’re doing something right.

I think the film-within-a-film was intended to be a sendup of Sean Penn's performance in the cloying and patronizing
I Am Sam.
Robert Downey Jr.'s performance in the film is also highly controversial - albeit with regard to another community instead of the cognitively challenged.

Well, I for one would rather gouge out my eyes than watch another Ben Stiller “comedy”.
To: cripplecreek
Yea, apparently Robert Downy Jr. attempted to act.. it insulted actors.

I hope they throw this group of whiners out of their office. I hope who ever coined the phrase above “the R word” feels like an “R word” when they realize that they could have said “retard” in reference to what was said without any risk of offending anyone.
What a load of trash. People should grow up. It's a comedy. Stiller's character is supposed to be an idiot for being in a movie that would have such a ludicrous promotional poster. The characters who use the term “retards” are idiots and that is displayed by the fact that they are using the word “retard” so much and so so derisively.
Further , all of the above being obvious, I hope this group feels bad for exploiting their children's needs in order to promote the group that is supposed to be looking out for their needs. They have no problem piggybacking on the fame of a movie that they are disparaging.

So wait a minute, let me see if I understand this.
The movie (actual) established that one character is a jerk by showing that he once appeared in a Forest Gump ripoff complete with stupid slogans and ARC thinks this is insulting the disabled?
They really should be paying attention to context.

Sounds like a great idea!
