T. Boone Pickens has a series of commercials running so often on TV and radio that you cant avoid them. The basic idea he is selling is to replace gasoline in cars with natural gas, and replace natural gas in electricity production with wind farm produced electricity. The idea wont work, but Pickens will reap more millions from government subsidies until America figures that out, just as we have figured out that Biofuels made from foodstuffs was a very bad idea.

Pickens is following the blueprint of the biofuels subsidies, and looking at Archer Daniels Midland as a role model on how to make money on the backs of US citizens.
If Pickens’ scheme is so great, why doesn’t he just go ahead and do it? Why does he need commercials?
That's what I was wondering. If he's so damned sure he can replace oil this way why doesn't he start by building wind mills and selling what he produces to electricity generators? They'd probably appreciate the extra capacity. Why does he need to run a million commercials all saying we can't drill our way out of this crisis?
I wholeheartedly agree that biofuels was an ill-conceived plan and would never have gotten off the ground without our tax dollars. We need to pull all government subsidies now. If biofuels is so great, it will stand on its own.
I refer to biofuels as the "Starve People, Feed Cars" program
But that was pointed out in another post on this thread.
Before one dime is spent on this idiot, He should finance wind and natural gas power on 1 city of say 50,000 with his crackpot idea and take them off the grid completely. Then spend 5 years monitoring their daily use to prove the viability of this. That way he proves he’s right and we see the results to justify the tax. Me thinks it’ll bomb!
Mr. Pickens, my 6.0 liter, 400 H.P. V8 runs on 93 octane GAS....not wind.
