There are four justices over seventy years of age: Stevens 88, Ginsberg 75, Scalia 72, and Kennedy 71. Of these, only Scalia is conservative. With McCain, the GOP can own the Court for decades with conservative replacements. But will he campaign on this issue?

I see your point.
And I respect it.
I just have a different course, that's all.
You will be voting for a Liberal Republican.
I will be voting for an Independent Conservative.
Independent Conservatism is much more closer to my own thoughts and philosophy, that's why. It is personal choice, I suppose it cannot be argued. To each is own.

“The flaw in that ointment is that 3 of those 4 were appointed by Republican presidents.
McMaverick-reaching-across-the-aisle, who would face a Dem controlled Senate Judiciary Committee and Dem controlled Senate, would hardly rock the boat and try to appoint conservatives.
First, he has significant disdane for conservatives anyway.
Second, he would have to make appointments he could get through the Senate — controlled by Dems who are not going to allow him to move the SC any more to the right.”
A McCain Presidency would be a disaster.

I also have faith in John McCain to appoint conservative judges. His past acts to reach a compromise over judicial appointments helped break the logjam and had good overall results, in my opinion.

What “break” in “the logjam”?
What “good overall results”?

As I recall, a couple of good conservative judges got a vote and got confirmed after that compromise. Without it, we’d have probably had no appointments at all.
I’m a big McCain supporter. I call him a pragmatic conservative. And he’s a long long shot better than the other guy in the race.

I call him a pragmatic conservative.So basically he's a liberal.
Stop hiding behind words like the left-wing Socialists running the Democratic Party and their "progressive" nature.

More SPAM from a bogus conservative working like hell to get Obama elected. The only bogus conservative in the room is McCain. Amnesty for illegals, carbon credits, bailouts and corporate welfare, and more Big Government spending is most definitely not conservative, unless by "conservative" you mean "Socialist."

Dont forget tax rising.Oh yeah, I forgot about the part where McCain was for potentially raising Social Security taxes. He also backtracked on a promise to repeal the AMT.

No, he’s a pragmatic conservative. It’s a much more accurate label, in my opinion, and I’m not hiding a thing. I’ll be working hard to get JM elected president this fall.

If there is one person I cannot stomach MORE than McCAIN--who also brings up the chunks of barf when I ponder him as President, then it has to be OBAMA.That is why NEITHER OF THESE TWO MEN will get my vote this year.
