Ron Paul on Glenn Beck Show

Posted on 07/30/2008 4:27:52 PM PDT by rightwinghour

I watched Ron Paul on Glenn Beck today and as usual I was amazed that he is just about the only politician in Washington talking about the real issues. Neither McCain nor Obama will talk about monetary policy. They are scared to, because they know the system we have is unconstitutional and that the only way to fix things is to go back to constitutional money. But that would hurt, so it wouldn't be prudent to bring it up...

He wants our military out of all foreign countries, period. That’s not surrender, that’s ending a destructive foreign policy that’s gone on for over a hundred years.

That's appeasement and "all carrot and no stick". You paulites have to be nuts to think that withdrawing our troops from around the world is a good idea. The dictators would LOVE you.

We’ve been fighting in Afghanistan for so long now, it’s crazy that we haven’t gotten him. Either he’s there or not. If he is, get him, if not, find his a$$.

Another example of Paulite lunacy. Earth to Paulites...It is not a good military battle plan to concentrate solely on killing the general instead of killing the troops.

Demolishment continuing.

This along with the realization of advancing technology with weapons able to do lethal damage from thousands of miles away have changed everything in the world. Gone are the days of non involvement defensively in the world.

Yes, and the Hitler-Saddam types just keep on coming. Obviously, we need to keep outposts for any little pygmy dictator that pops up so we can play a quick game of whack-a-mole before the nut decides to really go megalomanical on us.

Paullites are too stupid to realize this. Pacifism has warped their brain.

If the USA would have stayed neutral in WWII maybe it would have taken the Russians a couple of years more to defeat the Nazi's....maybe those extra couple of years would have enabled the Nazis from obtaining the Atomic bomb...

If the USA would have stayed out of WWII than the Russians may have been the first to obtains the atomic bomb....

I don't agree with you...

You are indeed a pacifist, that's clear. OK, let's start your education since you are so ignorant of the facts. Pacifists always are, so that's another clue you are one. 1.Saddam wouldn't comply to 17 UN resolutions. 2.We have found over 300 mass graves in Iraq. 3.Saddam was paying $25K to each family of every Palestinian suicide bomber 4. He was shooting at our planes in the no-fly zone. 5. He was shooting at our weapons inspectors. 6. He shot Scud missles at Israel. 7. He has a terrorist training camp called Salman Pak in the suburbs of Baghdad. 8. Invaded Kuwait, 9. Used WMD's on the Kurds. 10.Harbored many terrorists in Iraq, some of which were living openly in Baghdad. And with all that, you and the rest of the idiot Paulites think that we shouldn't have invaded and taken him out. Thank God you and Ron Paul wern't around during Hitler's reign, we'd all be speaking German now. Perhaps you should read up on what a pacifist is. I am not a pacifist. You've made it clear you think it is our job to enforce UN resolutions, despite the fact that nothing in our Constitution authorizes us to do so. Yes, Saddam was a bad man. He killed people. He abused power. All tyrants do. And if the people really want a change in their government, they have themselves a war and kill the bastard. You do well pointing out the atrocities of Saddam, but you provide no Constitutional basis for us to intervene and overthrow a sovereign nation. Your problem is not with me, it is with the Constitution. Yes, he shot missles at Israel, and by golly Israel can bloody well shoot missles of their own. Again, not our problem. With regards to Hitler, the results of WWI made the political atmosphere perfect for him to come into power to begin with, and guess what, we had a hand in that, too. The notion that we'd all be speaking German is a false one. The only reason Hitler declared war on us is because Japan attacked us, we declared war on them, and Germany and Italy were then obligated to declare war on us. You can't even see the basic logic? Amazing, but sad. Your version of peace is not peace but total subjugation to any dictator who flexes his muscles, when then causes gestapo-like tactics that go on for a long time when we or anyone else live under a dictator. You can't see the logic of peace because you have not seen peace. All you support is peace through perpetual war, where America is the dictator telling other countries how they can run their own governments. Intervention has its consequences and we have reaped the whirlwind because of our interventions. It is not our business to “free” millions of people from a dictator. Yes, it is, if you have a heart and are not selfish to the fate of others. You and the other paulities are real cold-hearted people with no conscience. And like I said before, you don't have a problem with me or Ron Paul, you have a problem with the Constitution. If you want to fight unconstitutional undeclared wars, go ahead, but at least have the decency to amend the Constitution so that those actions will be allowed. Your passion to help others is noble, but it has cost literally millions of American deaths. Not if they don't have any guns and the other side has all the weapons. There will be much less human death if the US goes in quickly and takes out the dictator and be done with it. Your appeasement at all costs actually costs many more lives in the long run, not to mention a LOT more human suffering by the subjugated citizens. Resistance movements find ways to get weapons and more supporters. Like I said, if they want it bad enough, they'll reach out and take it. Something like 500,000 Iraqis are dead because of this war. Thank God we saved them. I find your statement "quickly takes out the dictator and be done with it" rather funny. Think about it. Appeasement is not something I support by the way. And you don't want to help anyone else have a chance at the same kind of government? Boy, you are selfish! No, I don't want to send our soldiers to foreign lands to fight for the freedom of people who are not Americans. It's unconstitutional and it has had disastrous consequences for us. I am selfish, I want America to be here for at least another two hundred years. What you need to do is read the Constitution and try to find some kind of support for your war policy.

You’re right, blatant stacking of the Supreme Court did go on pretty badly during that time. The court previously held that legal tender was unconstitutional, and it plainly was, but Ulysses Grant stacked the court, but two extra justices on it, and got the ruling he wanted. The separation of powers was under attack long ago, wasn’t it? Grant turned the court into a bunch of tyrants in black robes, kind of like what we see today sometimes. When I told you to read and understand your history and your Constitution, perhaps I forgot to tell you to look out for WHERE WE WENT WRONG. Instead of interpreting the Constitution the way it was written and staying within its bounds, we now try to see just how far we can go out of bounds.

"Why exactly is our current money “unconstitutional”?

Because it is not Gold, or currency backed by gold.

"What would constitute 'going back to constitutional money?'

Coining money with appropriate intrinsic value, and printing currency backed by gold.

Listen you POS, I grew up around dozens of people fresh out of the Nazi camps and in some cases, they were the only person left of their family.

You are full of the Storm Front, fascist propaganda.
The adults here don’t care to read your crap.

By staying neutral. That means we should not have assisted and armed one of the warring sides. That was against international laws on neutrality, and was an act of war in and of itself. FDR also froze all Japanese assets here in the states, and intervened in China, both of which are acts of war.

Yeah, sure.

I guess you could help out there, right?

Let me guess... anything Space Alien ElRon says is RIGHT, and anything else is WRONG.

Yeah, ElRon Paul and ElRon Hubbard. Paulestinians and Scientologists. Ignorant, dogmatic, clueless idol-worshipping buttkissers. Birds of a feather.

Bye, pinhead.

Well you are wrong.. Japan and Germany would still have declared war on us.. Also I don't recall Germany and Japan obeying international laws on neutrality..

As for freezing Japans assets here in the states it was the right thing to do.. Had we not, we would have been facing a much more powerful Japanese Navy..

"Basically, there is on the order of 13 trillion or more paper dollars in one form or other in various economies, there is simply no way to back all of that with gold or what have you."

Yes there is. Simply provide an exchange rate between the federal reserve notes, and the real notes that truly represents the price of the backing metal in fed notes at the time of exchange. Anything else is just fog on the window of reality. We cannot continue indefinately with inflated fiat money.

Had we stopped Hitler early on, I think a lot of lives would have been saved.
Had we stopped Japan early on, I think a lot of lives would have been saved.
I also think that we had stopped Stalin, I think a lot of lives would have been saved..

The lesson of WWII is nip it in the bud..

That’s not appeasement at all. Pulling out under our own terms is the opposite of appeasement. And perhaps your strategy on Bin Laden is to kill his soldiers, but leave him alive so he can recruit more? Seriously, this many years and no results?

Disagree. Pelosi, along with McCain, was a big enthusiast for the Kosovo War. Paul, of course, opposed both.

If we had stayed out, there likely wouldn’t have been a Cold War, and none of the resulting military buildup. Lot’s of what ifs in all this.

No, all you have to do is look at the whole of American history and you can see where the Constitution came under attack. I don’t have to help you, all you need to do is look at it yourself.

The other poster was correct in post #44, in regard to some of your comments about the U.S. being the worlds cop, the U.N. and other comments.

He's correct, your problem is not with him, as much as it is with the U.S. Constitution.
