“2. I don’t think they had in mind becoming overwhelmingly indebted (and losing our control, i.e., “the power to change.”) due to “medical industry” profiteers taking advantage of illness or accident to furnish their stockholders’ exhorbitant lifestyles. Or, through insurance, so profiteering from even the threat of harm, effectively asking the typical racketeer’s question, “Well, what is your life worth to you?”

3. We were not founded upon the philosophy of “rugged individualism,” but upon a recognition that we each were ruggedly responsible to God and thereby to our neighbor. Lose track of that and “conservatives” lose much, much more than their elections. For just one example, individuals who contribute to the rugged deaths of 1,2000,000 other, innocent individuals per year are somewhat divergent from constituting a nation holding to America’s Creator endowed rights. “

Got any solutions? Or just complaints?

Daunting task, coming up with solutions to such a pervasive problem. It seems at one time in this country there was some chance you could rise up and your voice might be heard. Our population has increased exponentially, but our representation is so tiny considering. I'm not for bigger government. I think more representatives is the wrong solution too. Maybe term limits so the bums don't start feeling they're gods... maybe throw them all out and start over. I'm disgusted with what we have but I'm only one voice. I'm so thankful for freerepublic that gets all these voices in one place, but now what? The guys who started this thing here in this land here had to get together one day and say, "I'm fed up! What now?" And so began the journey to answer the "what". The people are truly not in control and every day that passes they are more willing to give up another... and another... and another piece of their liberty; their freedom. Let's start discussing ideas and then figure out a way to implement them. Maybe a grassroots movement within a movement. I'm with you, Checkers... Any Solutions? Or just complaints?
