We have rotten leadership. It’s too bad people didn’t see the light and speak up earlier.
You said it. The gas prices are already cutting into people’s ‘extra’ money for entertainment. The vacation places are going to be first to get hit. These “it ain’t so bad” folks are going to be eating their words if it spirals out of control. People are feeling the pinch at the pump, whether they like it or not. Winter could cripple people.
Ok, so at what point is “it’s not so bad” going to be? So we aren’t in line for soup, but come on, votes aren’t going to be won this way. I’m not saying we should buy the votes, but people don’t want to hear this mess either.
and who’s fault is that?
Millions? Try billions. And we’re all going to be eating dirt. And it will be Phil Gramm’s fault, because he has a Ph.D in economics and he failed to point out something everyone already knows to you.
I see the usual Chicken Littles are out today.
People need to live smart. Combine trips out for a gallon of milk with a trip to the dentist, or do without milk if that’s what it takes. We need to stop whining about not being able to afford lattes anymore. Life is still much better than years ago. My friends don’t let their house get above 55 in the winter, and it has only cost them one oil tank for the whole season for years, and they are still happily married. We’ve become a spoiled society, and tough times might not be a bad thing to bring us back to reality.
Per Frank Barone: “ git off your pity-pot Nancy and quit your whinning”. From TV show “Everybody Loves Raymond”
The quote should be used more often.
Also another quote from Unknown: “ I bitched because I had no shoes, until I saw a man with no feet”
Phil Gramm, the tin eared jerk of the Republican party for 30 proud years. I guess Phil gets a taste of some of that mental recession first hand now. Not that he gives a crap. He bills out at $1,000/hour rain or shine.
