I read the NYT piece earlier today. Amazing.

Agreed. It showed what good journalism looks like—neither too fawning nor too critical. It let the readers make up their mind.

Mr. Chafets did, indeed, write a balanced article about Rush Limbaugh. Hard to believe this was published in the NYT.
Link to the article.

Wow, this was an excellent article. I really liked the Ted Baxter label he applied to O’Reilly - priceless...

Rushbo’s southern command center, although somewhat obscure, doesn't appear to be that secure. A concern of mine is that some liberal nut job will try to harm Rush. Losing this man would be a tremendous blow to American conservatives ... no one articulates our position as cleverly with that ever present sense of humor as Rush.

Anyone here remember that once, a long, long time ago, in a galaxy far, far, away, El Rushbo actually did a TV commercial for the NY Times?
Better yet, can anyone find it online and post the link?

Well, I’m stuned. As is my beeber. A piece in the NY Times on Rush that didn’t attempt to eviscerate him!
I can almost hear the assignment editor shouting... “Hey, who’s this ‘Limbow’ guy? I just heard he inked a 400 million dollar contract for something they call ‘talk radio.’ Maybe we should report this... Let’s send someone to do some background on this guy. But don’t be too mean to him. Someone with that sort of money may be looking to invest it somewhere, and if we’re really nice, maybe he’ll invest in Times stock...”

The recipe is laid out very simply: One part determination, two parts hard work, and one giant pair of brass cajones.
There is also another part - Limbaugh is a huge talent.
Many have aspired to fill his shoes, left and right. It’s not possible.

It seemed reasonably fair...or as fair as the New York Times is capable of being.
