I found Pepsionice comment of interest, I have often asked myself, why would we assume the April birthdate to be correct, when nothing else is?

At some point...one of the dots will suddenly not connect to the natural next part of the story...because we are going to find out bits that aren’t part of the “legend”. The birth certificate would readily identify his birthdate....which a number of people are now believing that its in the April/May timeframe....not August...which would mean that Stanley Ann was preg before they came to Hawaii.

I wonder how close Madelyn was to her brother Charles. Was he an influence in Stanley Ann's life?

Did she visit during the summers? Perhaps that is why she wanted to go there. Surely she had visited the campus prior to applying. Was Chicago a place she was already comfortable with? Having been accepted to the University of Chicago, Stanley would not allow it. Wonder why? The distance or the company she might keep?

Always more questions than answers, but sooner or later that one nugget will glisten in the sunlight.
