I wonder how close Madelyn was to her brother Charles. Was he an influence in Stanley Ann's life?

Did she visit during the summers? Perhaps that is why she wanted to go there. Surely she had visited the campus prior to applying. Was Chicago a place she was already comfortable with? Having been accepted to the University of Chicago, Stanley would not allow it. Wonder why? The distance or the company she might keep?

Always more questions than answers, but sooner or later that one nugget will glisten in the sunlight.

Placemarker ... can you believe someone accused me tonight at FR of not reading anything about 'natural born citizen'? That was a hoot from AUH2ORepublican .

I agree, and thank you for your research and input, Stanley Ann having an Uncle at the U Chicago explains much as to why she made application to go there. An application that she would have made in person, after her graduation. With her marxist education and background, the events at the UN in September 1960, with Castro and Krushchev at the UN would have been a huge drawcard for her, I believe. It's perhaps no wonder then that her schoolfriend said she lost track of Stanley Ann after graduation. Stanley Ann may have been in Chicago and New York.

Months and months ago I believed that as time passed the emotional pain caused by this sack of garbage would be slightly minimized. (That thought always frightened me)

Anyway, the pain has only intensified.
Panic and a horrible knot in my stomach that won't go away.
Pregnancy was easier.

I'll keep praying. And thank you everyone for all the digging.

Madelyn, Ann, Jr and Maya visited Chicago the year Jr was 12. There is a picture on this thread of that visit and it shows Ann, Jr, and her Uncle Jon(the youngest Payne). From your earlier post Uncle Charlie retired from U of C in 1995, five years approximately, after Jr was offered his position there. In 1995 Jr and the Jackie wannabe went to Bali so he could “finish his book” but Jr never mentioned that he had an Uncle Charlie at the University.
