Let's say that bho was born in kenya. Would not his mother have had to get him a passport to return him to the US?

That would possibly explain the passport fiasco of some months back.

Also her passport records may show that she was not in the US when he was born.

You are correct babies do need passports. An angle that has not been brought up before.

Actually, at one time, babies did not need passports. They traveled on their parent's passport.

At the time of BHO birth, in 1961, babies and small children were still able to travel on their parents' passport.

Another thought: perhaps the passport they were seeking was his mother's, Stanley Dunham.

If it was issued prior to BHO's birth, it might indicate that she had traveled overseas, giving evidence that he was not born in the US.
