Not asking for perfect. Never have. McCain wasn't even as "conservative" as Bush was. McCain has only gotten MORE liberal since. At least 50% adherence to core conservative principles would be nice don't ya' think?
Sometimes in politics that means going with the closest to the right you can be.
McAmnesty ain't it. Hunter, Thompson, Paul, Barr, and Baldwin are a LOT closer than John ever has been. If you weren't just engaging in "my Party, right or wrong" crap, you'd admit that and help teh rest of us work towards it. Instead, you make idiotic and childish statements about those of us who refuse to continue to whore ourselves out to a Party that seems bent on getting rid of us.
Get a grip, buy a clue, smell the stuff your stepping in... Ain't no one else buying it.
The list of GOP candidates has gone downhill substantially in the last 30 years.
If McCain can get the GOP nomination then there is no level low enough for the GOP.
Holding one’s nose to vote for a candidate only means that you still vote for a stinker.
Some will swallow anything from the GOP.
But some of us have more self respect than that.
You’ve been here long enough to know how the GOP faithful express their expectations that everyone should vote GOP...or else.
When those GOP faithful resort to coersion (if you don’t then...ITEOTWAWKI) and name calling (if you don’t you must be lib/marxist/islamophile/methodist etc) then their forceful requests are no longer requests they are demands.
They act like they are cashing a check and my vote is the currency, payable on demand.
The GOP doesn’t stand for liberty or freedom any more...accepting that at one time it did. The GOP is just the flip side of the coin with the Democrats being the other.
And neither are acceptable IMO.
Watch yer knot...
Thanks, Pal. I was with friends, and we did. Now down from LertCon 4, though the situation regarding Iran-Istael still bears watching, and also has the potential to force *interesting times* upon us.
