It sure looks like the real deal. It's a joke. It's going to get less than 1% of the general votes and zero electoral votes. They are not building momentum, they are AT BEST a spoiler (on the liberal side).

I will respect these third parties when they start acting rationally and running candidates in elections they can win: perhaps state house races, state senate races, the odd congressional district. That would start to create momentum. The big presidential run is just an ego trip with zero percent chance of success. Ho hum.

6-3 in favor. Scalia. Strong, but no incorporation (yet).

Heck, a non-vote for McCain will be the best way to effect this Republic for the next 30 years. Everyone will get your message and thank you.

Oh, so if I don't vote as you see fit I'm the ruination of the Republic???

Then you should be BEGGING for my vote, not demanding it.

There is no way to vote against any candidate, no place on the ballot of “against” votes.

You can only vote “for” a candidate.

If you don’t want Obama in, don’t vote for him.

If you want McCain in, then vote for him, cuz pulling the lever for McCain because you don’t like Obama is a mistake.

There are others that can win.

McCain might win but is that really a win for America?

I think not.

Sorry, but no one else has a shot. *Some* people also though Paul was a shoe-in for the nomination based on internet polling and look how that turned out. McCain may not be a win for america, but he’s not a complete loss either. At least his ear can be occasionally bent with enough force by conservatives, hence his gradual shift on offshore drilling. With McCain there’s at least hope for the occasional victory, with Obama there is only disaster ahead.

First of all, I fully expect a limited affirmation of our individual rights to keep and bear arms, which they won't define too sharply, when the decision comes down tomorrow. It might be a 5-4 decision, but it will come down for our side.

Regardless, there won't be any draconian gun banning going on tomorrow. The sun will still come up and ammo will still be expensive. But stock up anyway, whenever you can.

The odds are leaning towards an Obama Presidency and a more Democratic Congress, and so after next January 20 is when we should begin to worry. The Dems don't care about the SC ruling. When have Dems ever considered the law or the Constitution? They can and will come up with licensing, taxing, banning and registration schemes, but it will take time. Probably a year from now we will see the first repercussions of a tyrannical Democratic government. I hope that I'm wrong.

By then, you definitely need to stock up. There was a shooting in a KY plastics plant today. How long would it take for Obama and the Dems to jump on that? About a New York minute. Stroke of the pen, law of the land.

Fortunately I am well-stocked, but if I see the Bad Things coming down, I will get some investments anyway. Tomorrow should be a good day. So BLOAT anyway if you can!

I truly hope that you’re right and I’m wrong about this. I don’t have much cash to play with right now so now’s a bad time for me to have to stock up. I guess I’m just feeling skeptical in light of recent rulings, but in reality we *should* win. I’m definately not counting on it though. Whatever happens, there’s a lot at stake here.

No, but I’ll put my money against any third party canidate this year. Sorry, not going to happen. If my dream canidate were on the ballot I might vote for him even if I knew it was futile, but I’m just not seeing it in anyone so i’ll go for the least bad with a viable chance. People might say that’s how we got in this mess in the first place, but that’s really only true during the primary. My vote was for Thompson, even though I knew he was DOA.

You are odd...

on the one hand you show disdain for McCain calling him the least bad yet you refuse to work for a better candidate, preferring to bet against instead of work for a better candidate.

Frankly, are no canidates left that I give a flip about. Why would I work for a “better canidate” when I don’t believe any of them deserve my support?

You have got to be kidding if you think anyone should be “begging for your vote”. Are you really a citizen of the U.S.?

What is more important to you, your “feelings” or the country?

As most grow up they learn that sometimes the mature and necessary thing is to realize it is time to set aside their own incredible need to be right.

Some don't.

“No thanks. The Constitution Party is looking better all the time....”

Obama thanks you because in reality that will be a vote for him. So your vote will be like Souder and Ginsberg, a long term strike against the good of the country.

Briliant. But at least you are “right”.

Hope you will sleep as easily as them.

Moron. Reasoning like yours is how we came to this point. Idiotic goofball statements about about "a vote X is a vote for Y" is how we ended up with both Carter and Clinton. If the GOP would have run decent candidates to begin with, it NEVER WOULD HAVE BEEN AN ISSUE.

Nor are we in any way assured that "Gang of 14"/"reach across the aisle" McCain will in any way appoint conservative judges. Even Reagan made a mistake there and John is no Ronaldus Magnus.

Now stop pissing down our necks, we know it isn't raining...

I think that I have more right to expect the GOP to BEG for my vote than they have to expect and DEMAND it.

If you’re intent was to insult me, sorry, didn’t work.

If you are GOP voting for McCain you are like an abused, self loathing, cheated on wife who always justifies her husband’s infidelity and abuse.

If you are GOP voting for McCain you have no self respect.

“I think that I have more right to expect the GOP to BEG for my vote than they have to expect and DEMAND it.”

Please show me the letter, provide the link, or cite the article where they DEMANDED you or anyone else vote for McCain. A stronly worded request is not a demand.

That is unless one is particularly sensitive or feeling guilty for some reason.

“If you are GOP voting for McCain you have no self respect.”

GOP, conservative, or constitutionalists not voting and allowing the dems to take it all would show the same.

” Moron. Reasoning like yours is how we came to this point. Idiotic goofball statements about about “a vote X is a vote for Y” is how we ended up with both Carter and Clinton.”

Reasoning like yours is why the Republicans lose elections. “It's not perfect mommy so I am not playing, so there.”

“If the GOP would have run decent candidates to begin with, it NEVER WOULD HAVE BEEN AN ISSUE.”

Right, so blame it on someone else. This is politics so if it is not right you are invited to get involved and make it right. Sometimes in politics that means going with the closest to the right you can be.

Dropping out or solely voting a protest vote is so 1960’s. The hippies did that and look at where it got them. A few are still living in communes but are powerless.

However most of them probably are still convinced they were right about life, the universe, and everything. So although not part of life they "feel good" about themselves.

No say in the direction of the country, but that is cool cause they have their bongs and beads. Cool and self assured but without a voice that counts.

But they do "feel" good (groovy?) and that is all they need.
